There's an advantage and disadvantage in holding your Bitcoin. The advantage is you can wait for the right moment until the value of bitcoin rises up. and there's a bigger chance that you can save more bitcoin. There's a saying that I heard from my Mentor, "Timing is everything". you don't have to rush and trade your bitcoin instantly.wait for the perfect moment. However, the Risk of holding your bitcoin is that, it can get lost especially when get hacked. and when you decide to trade your bitcoin, it might be the lowest value of bitcoin it ever had. so I that means, holding your bitcoin doesn't mean that you are greedy. you're just being smart. but don't forget the risk of holding it for too long.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I think we are using the wrong words here. Holding bitcoin is smart, selling your bitcoin is stupid.

My observations of this crypto currency arena is that for the most part the players are very inteligent and quite frugal.

Greedy is not in the picture.

The greedy assholes are the ones printing fiat currency like no tomorow.

or you can sell 50% of your holding, up or down you cannot loose.

Give you chance to buy back cheaper  Cool

Holding Bitcoin isn't greedy. The people that are holding them took a chance. They took a chance very early on and believed in a decentralized currency with an anonymous creator and therefore no owner. They helped create value by holding their coins and this is what drives the price. There is only a scarce amount of bitcoins available because of this. This is the beauty of BTC.

I will hold the bitcoin as long as I can, and its not greed at all. See if you hold your gold whether you call it a greed?

That is quite a peculiar statement. Amassing money isn't inherently greedy at all, infact it's an admirable act if you act accordingly to the law. If we're talking about amassing bitcoins at the expense of other people then it's kind of greedy? It's not all black and white when it comes to greed in the real life. Sure, it would be really mean of a person to not spare a dime for the needing, but if the economic situation is tough then I can't blame somebody for caring for his own back.

It's not Greedy, BUT, You need a proper speculation and set a target by the basis of your speculation.
when you reached to your target then sell your coins and wait for next dump.
without any knowledge and speculations it is really risky to hold your coins for long term.
Hope you will be able to catch the point.

Most people now with the rise of bitcoin value, just want to hold bitcoin for as long as they can so that they can maximize their worth. But isn't it a little too greedy to just keep holding bitcoin?
We've all read that story in the school with the moral "Greed is a Curse".
So what if too much greed in bitcoin may backfire? What if, the hodlers end up with nothing?

I can't appreciate with you. It's not called greedy. It's way to get profit. Day by day Bitcoin price increasing. People holding Bitcoin because of they wanna take their profit. On the other hand the way to holding it called Coin trading.
Right.Greedy is such a wrong term being implied in bitcoin. No one becomes greedy just because he's already earning a bitcoin. It's a fruit of his hardwork and patience to get a profit. And being greed reflects only selfishness, but not with bitcoin.Everyone has set its goals to earn bitcoin and make progress in lives.

Holding bitcoin is a very smart and profitable action, regarding its price which keep rising highly in short amount of time. Of course there is some low risk because the BTC price is always volatile, so the price go down sometimes, but gnerally the bitcoin's price keep growing up year after year.

Greediness is not applicable in saving ones bitcoin. We may know that its price is like roller coaster which always change from high to low or vice versa but I think saving it is a smart way. Because one of the reason is that he may invest it soon or use it in more important thing.

No,off course everyone is holding it for investment purposes so it is not greedy. Its not keeping only for yourself,it is keeping it for you to have more and then later earn in it so why would anyone think that holding their bitcoin makes them a greedy person.

I would not call this greed, but a prudent investor.  Why sell something that has a gradual trend of increasing in value every few months. Every Year, it seems that bitcoin multiplies from the previous year's price.  I see a trend in the price growing and it will eventually reach the 20,000 dollar per bitcoin mark.  People are estimating that cryptocurrency in 2020 will have a trillion dollar marketcap.

They wont end up with nothing if they are wise holders.
When you say Hodlers it doesn't mean they will just keep it for a long time.
This people are also trying to create more instead of just an idle number of bitcoin.
Not just thru buying but also in terms of making bitcoin itself larger by means of trading it back and forth.
It is not greed. It is being wise and preparing for a better income in the days to come.

Bitcoin is highly aggressive market but buying bitcoin on spike will definitely put us in trouble it is good strategy to buy at dips
No I don’t think so bitcoin holding is a kind of greed because bitcoin is such a currency which can make your money double and when someone is holding bitcoin so he is just waiting for right time when the price go high then he will sell all his bitcoins in order to take a good profit and that profit ha can use it for his future.

Absolutely not
Holding the Bitcoins is not greedy at all because just spending them on trivial matters is of no use. One must have some other ways to fulfill his needs instead of continuing with the buying and selling of Bitcoins .This is because the price is a matter of fluctuation and one cannot predict either the increment or decrement at any time.

Therefore you must believe in the digital currencies and keep holding Bitcoins both in the form of physical money or in digital wallets because they are not worth losing.

It is not greedy holding bitcoin is a wise decision as it makes the demand high thus its value also.

I think investors will sell Bitcoin in the early 2018. Because, as you know, there is many people borrow money with high-interest rate to invest Bitcoin. Therefore, they can't wait too long. They have to finish soon to repayment and get profit.

It could happen for sure but that would have to mean that bitcoin stops providing value (which it likely wont) and that people stop putting tremendous value on it (which they likely wont). Given that hodlers think the value

is there all the time and this will not likely happen then you have a scenario where this wont change unless things plummet from here. The only way I can see most people not being hodlers is if their profit margin got cut big.
