Can anyone confirm whether mkxminer 3.0.1 is working against a p2pool node or not?

I'm running a private p2pool node that I'm able to connect to and mine against with another PC (nvidia - ccminer) on my local network, however the amd (mkxminer) rig on the network shows it successfully connects to the node, yet does not receive a difficulty setting nor does it submit any shares. Testing it against public p2pool nodes also either fail to connect or it will print a Pool Stratum Auth error ...Service not found, Code: 32601, data: null.

The miner does slowly spin up, but I'm quite sure it's mining to the dev pool and I'm not running a charity.

It does the same for my local node. I contacted the author (Winmx) of the program but he doesn't reply. There are serious bugs in the program but for whatever reason he doesn't seem to be doing anything about them. Someone needs to hack his program and disable his dev fee, maybe that will wake him up.

I'm also waiting for Nextminer but it seems to be taking a long time. - https://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/7kih13/nextminer_open_source_miner_daily_updates/

Same here. Authorization error or hangs. I've managed to make it work using proxy.

Could someone tell me if it make any difference "-I: value higher than 23 for Vega FE with 16 GB or not?

Could the main developer post working links? The 2 windows link in the original post no longer work.
I'm not too keen to download random links.
thanks

I have problems running this on AMD R9 Nano and fury X:

The miner stops immediately and cleanly:

Code:
[19:01:40 - 0 days 00:00:00] Starting mkxminer v3.0.1...
[19:01:41 - 0 days 00:00:01] Connecting to stratum+tls://stak.suprnova.cc:7710 as WinMKX.test...
[19:01:42 - 0 days 00:00:01] Difficulty set to 8

Running the example2platforms.cmd:

Code:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

mkxminer.exe -o stratum+tls://stak.suprnova.cc:7710 -u WinMKX.test -p x -I 20 --platform 1

Using drivers 16.3.2 (Claymore Equihash compatible)

I think I had to use later drivers for this miner with Fury GPUs. iirc 17.9.3 worked with up to 4 GPUs of that series in my testing.

Thanks @Elder III
Indeed: I upgraded to drivers 17.30.1029 as advised elsewhere in this thread and it now "works". Well: it starts and runs for a few minutes or even an hour and then just freezes. No overclocking of my Nanos: I don't even have an overclocking utility running. Stock Bios.
I will start reducing the intensity.

Hello all!

I updated links to Windows/Linux releases and also added Version 3.1.0 for Windows. It has the optimized Vega binary built in and also, hopefully, there should be less disconnects now.

PS: If you need some info from the dev of mkxminer, please send me a direct message. Unfortunately, I don't have time to read all pages here.

Thanks,
WinMKX

Did you work on stability too, or its just the vega support?

Thank you very much.  I was just coming to this thread to ask about stability for vega gpu mining.  I'll load this up tonight and give it a try.

That being said, a question for anyone, what drivers for windows 10 64bit do people recommend for Vega with this?  So far I've been using the blockchain drivers and been following the advice of this guide to disable/enable vegas in the device manager after each reboot and to turn off "EnableUlps" and "EnableCrossFireAutoLink" registry options. http://vega.miningguides.com/#DriverInstall

I've heard the latest video game drivers (Adrenalin Edition 18.3.4) may have included some mining improvements, but I don't know if that most applies to memory limited algorithms rather than GPU core based ones like Lyra2rev2.

My current rig has 3 vega 64 reference cards running at 1408mhz / 925mv core, each outputting ~55mh/s.

I get the best hashrate with the Blockchain beta's (Vega Frontier Ed)(Lyra2rev), I tried the latest and most of the new ones this year and I've found them to be finicky with clock speeds and voltages.

I wish I could get my core voltage down more. It won't go lower than 950mv unless i drastically drop the clock speeds. Thanks for posting your Video card info.

One question for other users: when you set the voltage in .bat file, is it in volts as said in help file; or in mv as in most miners ?

thanks

Hi winmkx!

I like your miner. Is the best Lyra2REv2 miner with major advantage over other miners.

But... could you make it fully compatible with Awesomeminer? Maybe compatible with sgminer's commands/API. It should be awesome (lol).

was anyone actually able to get the advertised 39 MH/s on RX 580 ?

I tried the blockchain drivers and the highest I could get (with --asm) was 30 MH/s at stock speeds (1355 MHz core).

Sometimes....(1-2 times per day)

Code:
[01:29:24 - 0 days 04:14:35] Accepted diff 216 share 1863865b GPU#0 in 42ms
[01:29:26 - 0 days 04:14:37] Accepted diff 216 share b1c485de GPU#2 in 42ms
[01:39:37 - 0 days 04:24:48] Can't receive server reply - error 301
[01:39:37 - 0 days 04:24:48] Disconnecting from stratum
[01:39:37 - 0 days 04:24:48] Pool: connection interrupted
[01:39:37 - 0 days 04:24:48] Pool: restarting...
[01:39:40 - 0 days 04:24:51] Difficulty set to 216
[01:40:16 - 0 days 04:25:27] Can't receive server reply - error 301
[01:40:16 - 0 days 04:25:27] Disconnecting from stratum
[01:40:16 - 0 days 04:25:27] Devpool: connection interrupted
[01:40:16 - 0 days 04:25:27] Devpool: restarting...
After that miner never conect(reconnect) to pool.
No problem with internet and pool.
Just need restart miner manually(“q” also not work”)
Any suggestion ?

What settings?
I'm using Powercolor RX570 without --asm parameter. Intensity 23. No overclock.
About 28MH per card.
