Everybody keeps on saying scam scam scam for all of these ICO's. 90% of them are crap, yes. BUT there is the 10% of them, like vector, who are absolutely not scams. They are good projects that will really help the crypto community grow and its not fair to call an ICO a scam until you have actually researched it and you are sure it is a scam. Just my two satoshis... Definitely not every single ICO. But most of them are as you mentioned. I think that people have mentoined it a lot before but honestly, the altcoin and especilaly ICO markets are extremely saturated and is not worth buying into unless you find a really promising project. A lot of projects have the same concept that is just reused to milk investor money. Also, the not so subtle advertising in the OP

The truth of the matter is that this isn't the case cause if it really was, put simply, there wouldn't be any ICOs. Caution must be exercised with any decision in life. The same applies with investment related decisions...

At least most of them are scams. You need to know that most industrial companies don't have the same valuation as the current ICO, and a few tens of millions of dollars to develop a virtual cryptocurrency that is still legally blank?Isn't that expensive? Many of our money has been squandered by developers. We're all involved in a financial game, that's all.But we should be rational.

Yeah, well I'm starting to think so and that Vitalik confirmed it also bothers me. Its the sad reality since I've been hyped about 2-3 ICOs so far and they turned out to be .. just imaginatory projects.

Many crypto projects are actually just doing the ICO to get some quick cash, and it never turns into anything. There should be a good product\bussiness that already works. Most of ICOs don’t even have an Alpha version ready, and if you read their white papers, you find that the project isn’t even past the conceptualization phase.

Problem with ICOs is that in country where company is registered this way to crowdfund money for their project is most likely against the law, since investors are nod secured enough.
Exactly. Regulation and legal are the 2 biggest risks. It is time for everyone to start realizing it before its too late.

A lot of projects have the same concept that is just reused to milk investor money. Also, the not so subtle advertising in the OP Its true that they are milking the money out of the investors but it is also true that there are some very good projects are popping up in between which we must identify. There are many people who will actually use the ICO projects to milk the money from them, lol! They will buy cheap coins at the ICO presale stage and they will immediately sell it when the coin hits the exchanger with little higher prices. Anything higher than (even 1%) from the initial investment is called as 100% profit which they know very well. They do it, and they forget about the project. This is what should be done for current era of ICO because its better to scam the scammer before they could scam us. Thats the deal here which is left for us. Better learn it. :-)

There are a lot of good projects out there. Some will not make it, does that mean its a scam? I think its up to you to evaluate, people make money even with the strangest projects, some people lose money on the best ones. Its all about your entry and you sell point

Of course not. Just now, on the wave of excitement scammers became more. But if you choose ICO and carefully look at the team, participate only in those where there is already a real product, then most likely there will not be any losses.

Because of ICO results only you can find many people got scammed and some countries also banned bitcoin because of ico scams only. Please choose the right coins before you are going to invest in token sale. Other than that you need to check check the white paper release and blog about them. If have the right escrow to distribute the tokens to the people invested. You will be able to tokens in right time.

Well even I am seeing many new ICO's are a scam nowadays. Even the reputed ones who had a successful campaign running turned out to be a scam. But let's not ignore the fact that there are legit ICO's who actually are fair enough and can be trusted.
If you just open the altcoins Cryotocurrency section you will see alot of bounties , Ann threads and what not . But it's really hard to find legit ICO's from that hindered topics. That is why most of the ICO's start up signature Campaigns with the help of reputed managers to promote their ICO .

There are definitely a lot of scams out there, but to say every is far from fair.
Even ICOs that end up in failure doesn't mean it was a scam, once the buzz and hyperness over the original launch fades, a lot of ideas loose power and fade into nothingness, you see that with the countless kickstarter programs, they rise, some become insanely good, others die.
I definitely think that there is also an issue of far too many members of our community crying 'scam' the moment that they're caught out for being dishonest/something doesn't go their way or my personal favourite so far is the insane amounts of people calling scam at Electroneum because they're not delivering 'exactly-on-time-exactly-now' (That's given me so many laughs)

All as in venture investment - one of several hundred projects grows into something worthwhile. And this is with the constant monitoring and hard elimination of unsuccessful projects.

I think majority of them are a scam. I personally know a guy who is a part of MUFG and doing a MFG Token ICO. They're a banking company that have adopted Ripple. So, just be careful what you buy and research the coin first.

No one can accurately say which token is the best token. Luck and research play a huge role in determining who the winners and losers are in this aspect. For example, look at electroneum recently. I believe in this coin and I invested a small amount into this coin to test the waters since I like the mobile mining concept a lot. On the other hand, there are many haters who call this a scam.
