Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Yeah I see, just hopped in again! Kiss

By the way - what is done against people gaming the jackpot by creating (e.g.) 100 accounts and simply running 100 miners on a GPU (not really a problem for GPUs, though I haven't tried with that high numbers) all going at CPU miner speed? I guess that could increase chances to "jack the pot" somewhat significantly and only costs time one to set the whole stuff up once.

Edit:
And hellooo >200GH/s hash rate! Thanks and gratulations to everyone who chooses to mine at massive losses just to make hoppers happy!

This block already sucks for me.
With my approximately 200 Mh/s I'm trying to hold on to .09BTC.
It should be almost twice that if not, apparently, for the massive hoppers near the beginning of the block.

Is anybody having problems connecting to Triplemining today? I upgraded my rig over the weekend and today it failed to connect to the server with either of my workers. Other pools work fine though.
I haven't changed the network settings or anything.

I'm absolutely NOT pool hopping and I used to have 700+ mhashes 24/7 for weeks!

Can anyone help me?

Ok, now all of the sudden it works again yay!

@kinlo:
Thanks! Do you know what the problem was?
.

edit: I have a recent rash of problems with my hardware. Random freezes, problems with my internet connection, even the friggin power cable to my rig malfunctioned!
I sure hope this spree of bad luck is over soon. :sad:

This would encourage hoppers even more, which is the (a) problem at the moment as it is. Why endorse this habit?
