Bitcoin will always be much more profitable than ethereum, doesnt matter what, so if you are looking to invest for a long term, the best thing that you can do is invest just in ethereum, and maybe a little part of the portfolio in ethereum

Bitcoin is to crypto, what USD is to fiat.  I think that Bitcoin will always be the mother of all cryptos and highly doubt that any other coin will surpass its value.  Ethereum is a close second, I think it will rise in value also considering that it’s so widely used for crypto transactions, whereas Bitcoin is used more as a store of value therefore it attracts even those who are not particularly interested in crypto but see bitcoin as investment opportunity.

We know that ETH is the altcoin now that has a high value compare to all altcoins and it go higher and also has a chance to become more valuable. But to is it ahead form Bitcoin after 5 years I think that iisa very small time to make. So meaning it is impossible.

BTC had a big growth in 2017. But how can you judge from one year only? Bitcoin is backed only by hype. I believe Ethereum will slowly but reliably move to the top. At least we can trust in its technology which can be used in various spheres of life.

The future is uncertain and we can't predict the future in full surety but the one thing is important that bitcoin and Ethereum both are very good in this market ans it's value is increasing day by day. We can't say that we can control the importance and popularity of this currency but if i say about bitcoin and Ethereum both will existed after five years because the demand for both coins are high in the market and the future is full of this coins because everywhere the businesses will operate in these currencies the tradition is changed the people like crypto currency more than the paper money.

What is most profitable to invest for 5 years ?BT or ETH

Even if bitcoin right now is dominating the market. We cannot also just take aside the current price stability of eth. I just hope that bitcoin can still be more reliable than eth after 5 years cause obviously right now bitcoin is so umpredictable and the sudden pump and dump of price is crazy aside from that we can't even use it for a daily small transactions unlike before

ETH could never pass the price of Bitcoin.

Seeing ETH pass through bitcoin's market cap is possible but for now I'm sticking to bitcoin and I don't want to say that it won't happen. But I'm pretty sure of that there are a lot of people that are holding ETH and Bitcoin, so it will be a rally against the supply of bitcoin and ETH. ETH's supply is higher than bitcoin but both has been great for this year and as an investment or currency, they will remain well after 5 years.

The supply of ETH is stable and the number of coins mined per year remains the same. In case of Bitcoin, the number of coins that can be mined decreases with time. So if the number of users cease to increase, there can be inflation with ETH and its value can go down. This is definitely going to be an issue facing Ethereum in the near future.

I estimate Bitcoin to be more advanced after 5 years, this development will be richer not in terms of price but in bitcoin usage diversity. Bitcoin, which is used only for investment purposes today, will be proven after 5 years. If Russia, which Etherum supports, does not support after 5 years, price may increase

Let's see if that will happen but as long as we are not on that state then there's no need to worry about it. People are faithful with their coins that they are investing and what's good about it Bitcoin is king and ETH is nex to it and so if 5 years has passed still nothing will make them move from different rankings or will them into another phasing of cryptocurrencies. I love these two coins especially bitcoin.

Bitcoin's market share is getting decreased last week. Ethereum can still get 30% market share from the total. I remember when ether's market share was 31% while bitcoin's was only 39% in mid 2017.

For me both are good cause they will be always in first two places and the rest will only be compared to them, so just maybe split money on those two?

I think bitcoin will stay like gold as the valued crypto currency. Also will have higher values. And will stay under scrutiny. But others and ETH as well will have more activity on their coins will cost less and also won't come under scrutiny because bitcoin is going to take all for them.

If I will choose none other than Bitcoin even after 5 years it will stay no. 1 in crypto. much better starting now you will invest both of them so that after 5 years i'm really very sure that the Ethereum will rise like bitcoin but it will not surpass bitcoin.

Yah. But, everything has changed in November. The bitcoin market value has increased a lot more than as usual. whereas ETH had the same amount of share as usual. Due to current hard core occurance, the value has totally come down. As you know, the value is going to boom up to $20 to $30 in Jan to February 2018. Lets wait for it.

If after 5 years nothing happens to crypto world and the market remains as it is I guess that btc would be more profitable because its a reserve money for others as well as it has lower supply.

I keep seeing that you all are asking questions about what is going to happen in four, five, ten years from now and let me tell you that this is impossible.. There is no way to see or predict what is going to happen. And bitcoin will remain being the same, and the same is going to happen to ethereum too.

In my opinion, Ethereum will be more valuable than bitcoin in 5 years.

Many of new cryptocurrencies are based on Ethereum and they have to pay the gas fee for each transaction.

It means that when the Ethereum based cryptocurrencies are getting more valuable, Ethereum will be more valuable as well.

Bitcoin seems the standard until now but there are many alternatives now and it will be more and more competitive.

AT present btc is the king and rest other are following btc. In coming 5 years things may change considering huge time for the confirmation might hamper the growth of btc and thus ETH and Ripple may be more successful and be adopted by the people for the transfer of coins. In coming time things may change and their may be some new coins which can flourish and start rising more than btc.
