This new system is retarded, all it does is demote me significantly for my account not being old. I have high time online, I spend a hell of a lot of time online, I'm active, I contribute.

But now I look the same as someone who has posted once every 2 weeks and has 10 posts....

It's going to drive away people that want to trade and are just posting to increase their post count for trading instead of trolling like they should be doing. I like it! I don't trade here anyway.

I don't think you quite understood what I was trying to express.

Me:
816 posts
9+ days logged in
Only registered 13 or so weeks
=Activity of 98

Random account:
200 posts
6 hours logged in
Registered 28 weeks ago
=Activity of 200.

How on earth does that make ANY sense.

As theymos has mentioned, there may be bugs in the system. Let him know your observation.
He may have a better explanation.

That looks like it should look under this system. I understand it's screwed up. Meni Rosenfeld tried to bring that to his attention a few posts up but he didn't care. I'm saying it's going to have the opposite effect they think it's going to have and I think it's funny because I don't care if they even show post count or anything.

No, they would have an activity score of 10.

Only thing that might be a bit odd is how activity is counted; if I let my account sit for the next 6 months, should I expect to come back with my activity rating much higher than it is now?

No you need to post once every two weeks and have a mining computer that refreshes the page on the forum to jack up your time here.

Look at these two users. Both well established and joined in 2011. One with high post count one with two more months on the board:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=8198

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=24792

Post count means nothing but two months is worth way more in activity score.

No you need to post once every two weeks and have a mining computer that refreshes the page on the forum to jack up your time here.

You actually have to post an average of 14 times every two weeks (ave. once per day) since activity is the minimum of (time * 14) vs. posts.

Right but if you already have a lot of posts you just wait for your activity score to go up. Come back in 6 months or post once in a while to slowly increase your posts and let time do the rest.

I do too. I think it's funny. Now can you still completely bypass the system by buying hero membership?

Yep.

And this doesn't fix the problem of people illegitimately raising post count, all it does is delay when they come of age and punish legitimate members like me along with them.

And yes, the only solution for me to prove my worthiness (even if I'm a scammer) is to donate. 10btc is probably a small price to pay when the rewards for a scammer are 100+ in one transaction.

Meh, I still don't think that why would anyone judge 'worthiness' using the amount of posts here, or even a buyable tag.

But you have the new trust system too. That should stop scammers, right? No one would just buy the ability to scam or give false ratings like TF did. lol

This is bullsh*t. If your going to do a post/activity ratio crap, you need to have both available next to the avatar. No one is just going to click your profile?

It's discrediting longtime forum members. Please Fix this immediately!!

That sounds fair maybe a balanced component
Age / Helpfulness / Some other measures to make a total activity score

That turns into a popularity contest.

So what's wrong with that? Isn't that Reddit?
