Each 500Gh/s unit should be around 2,300 to 2,400 watts. We are going to take some measurements after we get some food.
That is amazing. BFL came through. 500 Gh/s!!! Can be run from a double pole 15A circuit. Very nice. "Came through"?! It was supposed to be 1500 GH/s @ 1500 watts in October '12. Now it's 500 GH/s at 2400 watts in June '13. They didn't "come through". They blew it.

A) They will be compensating customers with 3x the number of units, so you will be getting the same hashrate as what you paid for. B) Lets see you do any better.

What kind of cooling are you using for this room?
12 tons of high powered dc hvac. How much power does each unit actually take?

Now it's 500 GH/s at 2400 watts in June '13. They didn't "come through". They blew it. I am working on releasing an estimate of how much the BFL owners lost before they actually got their shipments. So far I have only done some rough number with what a Jally should have made from January 1st, of 2013. The Jally should have produced roughly 107 BTC from January until now. But should only produce about 7 to 13 BTC for the rest of it's [useful] life. I based it on halving my own ASIC and estimating what it would have produced back in January 2013. I do not know how much (for certain) an ASIC was making back in January (or even October 2012 before the block halving). But if correct, BFL hardware (actually any ASIC hardware) has lost about 80 to 90% of it's generating value over the last year. Which means you will only get about 10 to 15% of the value of your hardware before it starts spitting out fractions so small that the fee to make the transfer is probably bigger. My numbers may be off, so that is why I haven't yet released that rough estimation. But they should be in the neighborhood.

I didn't make a quote based on BFL having shipped everything. I only made it based on the curve we had up until now. Then on to what the curve will likely look like in the future. You are correct in that if BFL had shipped everything then the difficulty would have shot through the roof and probably by march the ASICs would not have produced anywhere near on track to 107 BTC. If that was your point then yes, in that you are spot on. Which if you look carefully at your own statement it is a self defeating means to profit. Exclusivity or scaling is the only way to remain profitable. (unless you actually think BTC will reach 1000 USD and great inflows of dollars flow through the system) P.S. In which case, just buy and hold BTC rather than buy ASICs. It makes much more sense.
