i was gonna release this coin today, but i'm having to much fun mining it on test net with a 900 mhz pIII....
in otherwords i fucked shit up in the source code. it may be a few days before i get it straightened out again. there will be some detractors speaking out because of that and i accept that criticism. i think it will be worth the wait in the long run.
I think we just ask for a reasonable time frame, shouldn't be a big deal to implement. Here are perfectly good examples:"Hey guys, we are 4 hours out" "Tomorrow, 5PM CST" "Running behind, release pushed back 1 hour" etc... Bad examples:"Sometime tomorrow" "When it is done" "Between 12:00AM and 11:59pm" |

I will probably mine this. It's different and r3wt has been passionate about it. His delay gives everyone time to be informed about it before release. Just wanted to make sure everyone Knows. Mineral deserves all of the credit for bitgem. I have nothing to do with the development. I am just a strong supporter who tries to relay his messages since his english isnt the best.
He has done something truly unique and deserves all of the credit.

I'll have my miner ready...any chance of releasing a p2pool prior to announcement so we can get everything pointed to the right place for startup? It'd be really nice to get in on day one of something...and the delay is fantastic.
