There are many traders that work with really big amounts of money. They know that with enough FUD the price doesn't rise too fast or even drops, allowing them to buy more and more since after Bitcoin Futures will get to be traded the price could (should!) skyrocket even more and they'll profit.
I guess that there are traders that earn enough even only from the small ups and downs Bitcoin makes every day. And for that some negative news always "help".

The mainstream banking industry has identified bitcoin as a big threat to their business considering 123 billion usd has already been filtered out of the banking channel for making bitcoin even more stronger. So they will definitely try to discourage people from using bitcoin. So whatever bad news you are hearing in the market, is mainly an organized FUD attack on us.

Also I have noticed another trend since last few weeks. Most of such discouraging news were posted by newbie accounts. 90% of such accounts never came back to online mode after posting one or two discouraging news.

Don't listen to them and all their negative comments about Bitcoin. What they are doing are simply spreading FUDs, the exact meaning of FUD. Just look at what they have got so far? Bitcoin has risen to break its ATH every now and then. FUDs may make a little dent to the price of Bitcoin but it can hardly cause it all the time. Just focus on making your Bitcoin investment grow because the coming BTC value is even bigger.

Because there are always two sides of the coin. If there is positive news, there is negative news that's why it can't really be prevented that there would be some negative news because many people are still in doubt about the coin and its future. There are many bankers who are against it because it is a threat to their business while some are open to it so some of the negative news are from them. We know that there are bitcoin whales holding large amount of it and they are doing manipulations as well to have more and a negative news can make the price lower so some of the news are just their strategy to make it cheaper and those weak hands will just sold their coin especially those who just entered the crypto scene seeing the price volatility of it.

The only negative talk I've heard recently was about Bitcoin Cash, and that was hardly organic. It was an organized attack which capitalized on Segwit2x's cancellation that integrated social media FUD with mempool transaction spam. Things were looking bleak for like a day or two before things settled down and Bitcoin went bullish again. You can safely ignore what you hear about this (inflated transaction fees, very slow transactions, etc.) because these are direct consequences of the attack.

But yeah, in general, the mainstream media seems like it loves Bitcoin again.

You must be listening more to nonsense talks about Bitcoin as I have not seen many bad news about it at least after the cancellation of the SegWit2x. Anyway, we should understand that people have different ideas and opinions about Bitcoin and from the viewpoint of a marketer even a negative buzz about something can be better than no buzz at all. Since those comments died down, recently people have started to attack from another angle: claiming that it's a bubble. i think this is what people's do if they don't like bitcoin and they will use many ways to give negatives perspective so people are not join with bitcoin. but i think you don't have to affect with negatives news, you only need to follow what your heart said and then doing your own research and if you think bitcoin is good enough for you and could help you for your future, then you can continue to use bitcoin and make money from bitcoin. i don't think that bitcoin will die for a short time because there is many people which is using bitcoin and they use bitcoin as their source to make more money.

I think OP did not necessarily mean bad news (after all the price is doing very well) but negative talk about Bitcoin last few weeks.
Reason #1 I believe is the slow transactions and high fees (many transactions unconfirmed for a while last two weeks).
Adding to that, the sudden drop benefiting to Bitcoin Cash, and the following week, the exact opposite with Bitcoin Cash crashing and Bitcoin going back to his best price, and overtaking it (all time high as I am writing this).

Yes, I agree that these negative news have been invented just to scare people and with the hopes that it would cause a panic sell and then the price would get lower for them to be able to buy more bitcoins. Yeah all i can see many of the topic in tgis forum its about the end of bitcoin, the price dropping low and the destroyed of bitcoin. In the spread of news, as much as good news abound so also are bad news but the issue here is that which one is superseding the good or the bad one. In addition to the news you have there, we have some others which include the consideration of bitcoin by Amazon, we also have countries coming to adopt the blockchain technology. EY is increasing the amount they spend on blockchain expansion and the likes.

In spite all this, the bad news is still making waves which includes, China coming against bitcoin mining, US citizens disallowed in participating in ICOs because of concerns of government, some bitcoin services are ending their activities from that end, Visa and MasterCard are withdrawing their services from non-EU countries etc. Looking at all these, there will always be good and bad news, we can only hope that the good are much more stronger than the bad counterpart.

Recently a negative news about the btc was for the ban of the btc in China for ICOs ban but in Actually there was nothing as the rumours going on heavily .

I get it, but don't worry too much, when something is hyped, there is a lot of talk about it and hence some negative talk too.

If you are aiming at a short term profit, you are not taking a big risk IMO. Pretty easy to make quick and decent profits these days.

The concurrency is saying this and it's because they want to put their Crypto-Currency on the top. They have their reasons, like expensive BTC fees for an example,  but in my opinion it's not a valid reason to left Bitcoin and start holding/supporting another currency. BTC won't be destroyed so easily and for such reason (that has been happening since a long time ago and so far Bitcoin hasn't lost its price).

How is bitcoin not considered negative? While bitcoin is a digital currency that includes many virtual purchases not only legal but also illegal. One example is the sale of illegal drugs, as many countries forbid the use of illegal drugs, that is what makes governments and society think negatively about bitcoin.

There is no perfect concept on earth that will be accepted globally without any negative misconception about the concept. Relax, it is those negative talk that makes any idea or innovation stronger and popular.

Same thoughts here. As long as we, the bitcoin community, understand the benefits of having and using bitcoin then there's no problem. We dont have to defend bitcoin to them if they don't want to embrace it. It's their loss, not ours. i hope they won't regret that.

I think I should have clarified in my original post - I'm hodling and buying more every time I get the chance; just thought it has been interesting to see people attempting to force negative news that we can all see through so easily over the past few weeks  

I get it, but don't worry too much, when something is hyped, there is a lot of talk about it and hence some negative talk too.
Price speaks for itself, the rest is pointless for now  

If you are aiming at a short term profit, you are not taking a big risk IMO. Pretty easy to make quick and decent profits these days.

To this post I wrote a few weeks ago, I would like to add some thoughts: IMO many negative talk are due to the nature of Bitcoin, I'd better say the nature it has became.
Because the idea of the man behind the nickname Satoshi Nakamoto was to create a digital coin that would be used on Internet only. A decentralized system, when the users remain anonymous. I really don't think he imagined year 2017 with hedge funds trading the coin, investors knowing nothing about it but buying it. At the beginning, Bitcoin was just a solution to send payments without intermediary, on a secure network.
That's why many people who were there in the early days are negative about Bitcoin in 2017 because around it, there are a lot of bad things happening, manipulations, but also all the other cryptos, and all those ICOs.... ad the scams coming with it.

We are now quite far from the initial idea of Satoshi Nakamoto back in 2008. When I say "his" idea, it was actually inspired by Nick Szabo (if both are not the same person).

Really don't understand all the negatives flying around about BTC lately - we are on the cusp of mass adoption and that will change the space forever in a positive way.

- Bitcoin futures and soon Ether futures
- Bitcoin legislation to make <$600 transactions non-taxable in the US
- Increasing adoption globally even after China ban

You could add so many more positives to the above, so bitcoin won't be dying anytime soon !

I agree with you. Bitcoin has a lot of good things going on and people should focus more on these things rather than point out its flaws that aren't even that bad. There can be a lot of reasons as to why a lot of negativities are being layed outt by a lot of people. And i couldn't care any less. And people shouldn't too. Bitcoin has survived every challenge it faced and became better after every challenge. Im sure this wll always be the case. At least for the rest of our lifetimes.

Where is the negativity talk. I have yet to hear it. A lot of people love bitcoin and they are very bullish on it. Bitcoin has some negative aspects but the overall is positive
