Do we Need Altcoin?

People are doing ways to upgrade the technology of Bitcoin so thats the reason why so many altcoins are coming up. But they will never ever beat BTC. BTC is the king.

Oh yes for sure, we need other altcoins. The presence or existence of altcoins creates a competition for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoincash or any other bigger volume coin you can think of. Every market without a competition is not interesting. Without other altcoins to trade against or to create comparison, maybe bitcoin would not have been popular as it is now. Another fact is that, there should always be varieties. It keeps the market healthy and better still more interesting. I'm not sure it'll be very good for only bitcoin or five coins to exist. The more the varieties, the more the different choices people can make on the crypto platform. Remember many people keep on joining crypto every day and imagine if we were all doing one thing. Another thing we must also know is that, every altcoin has the reason for which it was created, and not just for the sole purpose of trading against the bigger ones. Consider the number of new ICOs introducing new coins for services, gaming, gambling, education, sports, finance, and a whole lot of other reasons.

I think we need it as like as how we need other kind of coins. we are the one who decided to choose altcoin if we want to invest on it or not. Because if we don't need other altcoin i think the company who use it as their payment on us will hard for them to exchange if only one altcoin are we use or accept.

yes..we need it...because it sounds 'alternative' and everything need alternative thing for emergency situation...for me i still hope for new altcoins because it bring more bounty and it will help more people...and also we need altcoins for trading because if there are many altcoins maybe in the future bitcoin and altcoin exchanges could competing with stock exchanges

Yes we do I think. Competition is always good. However once bitcoin and etherium figure out scaling issues I don't think there will be many that are useful anymore

if still want to increase income or investment, I think we still need altcoin. because looking for profit from altcoin is easier than looking for profit in bitcoin. because altcoin prices are still cheap and we can buy from small capital to trade.

I suppose the reason why we need altcoins is not in the high price of Bitcoin. Many alts are faster and safer, more anonymous than BTC. They also offer various other options (for instance, smart contracts of Ethereum).

Yes we need an alternative coin in this kind of industry. Imagine if we are only using the bitcoin it may be difficult for us and for the supplier because it will have a short supply and the bitcoin have an expensive price so the others cannot afford it. So the alternative coins answer this. And user have an affordable coins

I believe that the question is not quite correct. You are right, coins created a huge amount. Most of them are designed for projects that turned out to be fraud.
But on the other hand there are good projects. If there are no new coins, how will the new projects move forward?

The main two reasons why you would need altcoin are as follows: 1. To actually use/ access a particular product a company is suggesting (wether that may be an exchange, KYC platform, new blockchain or utility/ security. 2: to use for investment purposes to generate revenue. (this is the main reason why they're released and bought in such huge numbers)

We definitely still need altcoins from the top-10 of coinmarketcap. Some of them are way better than bitcoin from technological point of view, others are connected with smart-contracts or other aims not connected with bitcoin.
