It is a very good idea to invest altcoin for long term of holding because the price of every altcoin is increasing every time and your investment will be double or more, just like investing on bitcoin the price now is very high.

It's not a good idea to own altcoins until you have proper knowledge about Crypto markets and their nature.
Most secured way to increase your wealth is invest in top 10 market capitalised assets in Crypto. Then you will definitely see rising of your wealth.
Altcoins are only best way to invest when there are good fundamentals

Of course it is a good idea to invest for a long term. Take for example a good project with a solid team, their tokens go up in price as the project evolves. And the price can easily double or triple during 6 months period (sometimes it can be even more). So I would advise to go ahead with altcoins.

Based on the understanding and knowledge of following up with the cryptocurrency for the past 6 month, my inference is that the cryptocurrency is highlt volatile.
Is it a good approach to stay invested for long term in the altcoin space?
I don't think that you should go for the long term investment in the altcoins Because formthe long term investment the best coin is the bitcoin only . Here perosnally I never make investment in the altcoins for long term , or if invest in any altcoin then puts at sell at advance because I know that any altcoin can't have more profit for long term.than what the bitcoin can give us . But if you are thinking that you want make investment in the altcoins then you should do but with multiple altcoins and take eye attention on the altcoins in which you invested Because the pump in the price for the altcoins not remain stable for long term .

My answer is yes for now. Especially on ETH, DASH, Monero, MIOTA . All of them increasing at least 50% of their value, especially MIOTA (200%) during lastest month. So you can hope after 3-4 months, you double your investing.

The idea of long-term investment will bring you the most profit. Today it is not worth making short-term investments. I would buy now Ethereum, DASH, Monero and LTC. I think Ripple will be rising constantly. EOS is also good, although its capitalization is not greet.

I think that investing and holding an altcoin can help you earn good amounts of returns if you pick a really good and progressive altcoin. Invest in an altcoin which is based upon a unique idea and whose acceptance is increasing day by day. Choose a coin with one of the strongest teams in the market as a strong team will always aid fAster growth. Investing in coins like RIPPLE, ETHEREUM, LITECOIN and civic can help you earn profits as all do these coins have tremendous amount of potential.

Really good projects which want to change crypto are worth investing long term, like Lisk, Neufund or Waves. But 99% of the altcoins will die in the next 2-3 years. They are only created for the quick bucks by greedy devs to get dumped very fast.

That really depends on the coin which you invest in, if it is a decent project and is hitting it's milestones and gains some kind of adoption then yes it is worth it, if you end up supporting a pointless pump and dump coin then long term this will not work out.
I agree with your opinion. A good and long project is suitable for a long-term investment

Analyzing the previous periods, I think you can consider some strong altcoins, like ETH, LTC, DASH, etc. But bitcoin remains number one in the question of long-term investments.

Since yesterday evening, the idea of investing in cryptonometes does not seem to me successful. My portfolio slipped by 15 percent. With humility, I wait for the rollout of bitcoin.

I dont think that investing altcoins for the long time is a good idea. It is better to trade them in the short term. If you wanna invest in long time, let choose Bitcoin

100% Absolutely it is a good idea. The reason is that ETH(especially) and several other coins will steadily grow during next year, of course, there is more and more projects on the altcoin arena, but the old ones are the ones to look, in my opinion.

Holding alt coins is a good idea but it depends on the type of coin. you need to verify the purpose of the coin, the dev team, market cap and circulating cap if it is a decent project and is hitting it's milestones and gains some kind of adoption then it is worth it.You should always look out to avoid pump and dump altcoins as well.

I agree that investing in Bitcoin is more secure with lower risk. But if any one can choose a good altcoin can make bigger profits. But it is more risky too as it is difficult to choose the coin.

As the user suggested for long term investment purpose it's good to choose bitcoin. I have a thinking to hold altcoins for limited amounts. In specific I'll hold for a sum that I can afford to loss. If luck is with me, will be profited long term else it goes as a loss.

Taking into account the great potential of the altcoin market, there will always be the possibility of obtaining a great return when investing in an altcoin, however it is necessary that you study which currency can offer you the profit potential you are looking for, since the market is capricious and not necessarily the currencies with better features obtain the endorsement of the market that one would expect, while other altcoins that do not offer anything innovative sometimes can obtain a great endorsement of the market, as we can observe in the case of BitcoinCash.

There are many altcoins out there and choosing the right one is really a tough choice but if you look in this forum or search it there are some known altcoin that is making progress. Mostly, they have decent projects which make their coins attractive and many investing on them, it is more recommendable to invest in those ones than investing with new altcoins which there is no guarantee that it will be successful. For me in my opinion, don't invest for long-term but if you want to invest for a very long term would recommend BTC and ETH.
