This amount of bitcoin is big 12 bitcoin, you know we will never know what happen next. Because in investment all are risks, if I were in this situation I will cashout half the amount because btc now is currently expensive. Also, some of your btc you may invest in other altcoin that you can gain profit.

The way BTC is growing, i would say HODL!! All of the public attention will first come to Bitcoin because that's the example people use to explain what cryptos are...and it is the most popular because it was the first [although subject to negative press in the past with the dark market and Mt Gox failure - which only made it more recognisable].

Sell it all on every top and buy it all back on every bottom until you have all the coins or go broke

You are already rich on that 12 bitcoin there are many possible ways to use that! you can hold some of that for long term goals and you can buy another altcoins to trade or to hold also! I can't say that you must hold it for a long time because we people are using money for our daily needs, just invest some and hold some of it.

I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.

My question is, what do I do now?

As far as I can see, I have 4 options;

1) Hold the Bitcoin

2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin

3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.

4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)

Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.

A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:

Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams (after bribing a few of the devs, I got massive discounts in comparison to market prices and drove the volume up on their respective markets to get them listed on coinmarketcap which catapulted their price). Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.

Fill out this form and win 1 Ether - https://goo.gl/forms/win91V0u6mljlxHu2
hold hafl of it, and the other half invest it in altcoins specially those top ten altcoins on coinmarketcap. I recommend that you must invest on ethereum right now.

Great story, given its true. Very precise entry and exit points into those investments. Its as if you knew what was going to happen.
I'm a bit sad you dropped out of school tho. Hopefully, it was not just to chase this cryptolife. But in any case, it was a big risk that paid off. Good job.

May I ask how much you started with?

Put them in a safe place and wait another 2 years and then retire early. Make sure you get all the forks and dont talk about having the bitcoins as someone might get jealous. Avoid all risks and be happy to have them.

Either you are a genius of trading or you have been incredibly lucky. In the fist case I'd sugget to go on like that. In the other case, I'd suggest to change a bit to cash and just hodl the rest Smiley

Oh! Aren't you the guy that started the thread about doing research on the top 600 altcoins?
And you have 12 BTC?
Seems like you are highly entrenched in the crypto world.

I would probably allocate 1 to 1.5 btc of it to actively trade and just hold the rest.
Out of that 1 to 1.5 btc that is being traded, I would set a certain percentage that I will convert to fiat every month for a steady income while reinvesting the rest.
With that much btc actively trading, you can probably convert $2000 usd a month and still have enough left over to reinvest.
Of course, $2000 a month is by no means a full time salary but it will go well with other sources of income.

If you really want to invest in something big, you can do that, but why not branch out into other forms of investment?
With a sum that big you can easily jump into stocks or real estate.
Diversified investment portfolios span beyond just crypto you know.

I would say its better to maintain on the thing that you did on last 6 months. Imaging starting out with less money and make it grow to 12 BTC  isnt a joke even an average person cant really make up that high.Im sure on that even investors would struggle to reach out 12 btc within 6 months with just that capital. If i were you better to continue on what you are doing. If you dont mind, whats the thing you are actually doing? Grin
Yeah. Just keep on what your doing, maybe if you change your plan, maybe you'll regretting because your finding another way to earn btc but what your doing is the best and easy way to earn btc.

If you really have 12 bitcoins. You should hold it until the value goes high or maybe you should invest some of your bitcoins into altcoins. Trade it to get profit.
