I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.
My question is, what do I do now?
As far as I can see, I have 4 options;
1) Hold the Bitcoin
2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin
3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.
4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)
Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.
A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:
Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams. Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.
What purpose are you pursuing? You are not constrained financially? I would leave them for long-term investments.

For me its better to go for the first and second option that you have. You can hold it a little bit longer until the price of bitcoin increase and you are satisfy to the profit that your bitcoin produce. Or you can also put an investment in some trusted altcoin so you could have a variety of investment that make you have more income.

12 Bitcoin is really huge. If you dont need to spend this amount actually your best decision would be holding it until the price go to the moon again. This amount could making you a millionaire in few years if the price keep increasing highly.

If you're person who believe in the growth of bitcoin, it's good to sell when you find that the price is high and buy it back when the price drops as it is highly fluctuating in value. Another thing to do is hold, if you doesn't wish to take risk. Apart from this its good to keep some amount as long term holding asset and use the rest into different altcoins that seems to be growing.

Whichever of the two, your first and second option, is a good idea. If you have decided to hold your 12 Bitcoins, you must have an offline wallet. It is not safe to store your Bitcoin in an online wallet. Since they are online, they are an easy target. But if you have decided to invest in Altcoins, you should wait until their price become cheap to maximize your profit.

Just don't do anything sit on Bitcoins and you will reap more profits.
If you still feel you need to diversify might be you can try 1 Btc to ETH and use that for alt coin trade. your BItcoin is the capital and i am pretty suyre it is going to do great in 2018 like 2017.

If you have bought your bitcoins when they were quite cheap to sell 1 is not such a dumb idea - you never know, sometimes Bitcoins's prices retraces even 90% lower that its top, if you look at historic records...

Thats crazy. If you are really that good, then just keep doing what your doing. If you are going to do what you are currently planning then still hold btc and start by trying 1 btc at first.

i would recomend you to hold it till bitcoin price increase to $20k usd. bitcoin soon will recover. investing in altcoin is a good too if you expect a better profit. but it would be more risky.

It is happy to see such posts which give us the encouragement to motivate ourselves also. As you have a very practical strategy and it has been worked with you is a great one. My opinion you can wait for 50000 USD this milestone will be achieved before end of 2018 so bro just hold it you are going to rock.
