sell now than on its price down lower. or if not just use coins to buy the other in order to obtain a bigger profit than other coins that are rising as well.

I think if you are able to have 12 btc in a half a year you really don't need our answers) you understand what you are doing so just keep this way up. about 50% I would invest to alts. the 3rd paragraph is not a good idea. it will take lots of your time and much more money than you have.
Diversifying your coins is better. You are a young man, with bitcoin’s quantity you have, I really admire your talent for investing BTC. However, crypto market is notoriously volatile, it requires you a lot of risks. I don’t know which choice is the best for you know, but for my experiences, I advise you to option 2 : Investing in altcoins and leaving some bitcoin, it may be not the best choice but it may a safe choice for you. I think you inherently have your decision, you can consider closely to your situation cause only you know what’s your situation now.

Edit: I have now invested 100% into Skycoin

I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.

My question is, what do I do now?

As far as I can see, I have 4 options;

1) Hold the Bitcoin

2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin

3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.

4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)

Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.

A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:

Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams. Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.

You are well done. This is a very good thing for me. I think if you continue on you will show new heights.

I prefer to buy some altcoin on an ico project because coin prices are so cheap. then I hold a bit of bitcoin to hold it. I think it is an effective way for you to grow your bitcoin so you earn a good and maximum income.

I would say its better to maintain on the thing that you did on last 6 months. Imaging starting out with less money and make it grow to 12 BTC  isnt a joke even an average person cant really make up that high.Im sure on that even investors would struggle to reach out 12 btc within 6 months with just that capital. If i were you better to continue on what you are doing. If you dont mind, whats the thing you are actually doing? Grin

Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams (after bribing a few of the devs, I got massive discounts in comparison to market prices and drove the volume up on their respective markets to get them listed on coinmarketcap which catapulted their price). Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.
you just have got lucky on the coins you putted your funds and make that long
way in just 6 months.i salute you for that.but asking what to do after what you have done
is sounds like a joke.

Why not continue with your strattegy and dont bother asking us.beecause as what we
sees you achieved more than what we did.

Continue to do what you have started and what you have been doing, it seems to me that you're quite knowledgeable when it comes to trading. You could also try to invest it but ofcourse there is always risk. I don't think you even need these kind of advices, but be wise.

Best is to keep them for long time investment...or trade ur 0.01 bitcoins again and next in 6 months in the same way you can make 12 bitcoins again...Choice is your if you have time trade it...If you dont have time hold it..thats all

It is preferable you stick with what you did to make such huge amount than diverting to another thing. Hold half of the bitcoin and invest the other half to altcoins. It is not everybody that can have their own coin this will turn crypto to a joke.

it is very dangerous for people to actually write what they have. We are facing a lot of hacking.

I would not be so spotlighted in this dude's place. Money loves silence. There are already so many different tips pushed that it's time to close the topic. The dude is being bullied, but everyone is drooling.

Hold your Bitcoin if the price reaches $10k usd the price will correct then before that you must convert your BTC to usd ,then after the correction buy the BTC again the outcome is more BTC.

You have a really good advice and bitcoin hit 20k in December though its struggling and retracing now???

The percentage of Bitcoin's dominance in the market is getting smaller and smaller. Already now it is 32%. The closest competitor is Ripple, whose market capitalization is already more than half of Bitcoin's market capitalization and 20% market share. Third is Ethereum with a capitalization, which almost reached 100 billion and a share of 12%. The capitalization of Ripple and Ethereum is the Bitcoin level of the November period, i.e. his level, which was just a little over a month ago.

Ripple, Ethereum, Cardano, NEM, Stellar and some other large assets - are the cause of the lack of growth in Bitcoin. Big players understand that other liquid assets with the potential for growth appear, and they are not terrible to invest, because at any time you can withdraw your funds without affecting the cost of the crypto currency in the market (without crashing it).

12 btc. WoW that was huge amount. I think you shoud hold 6 BTC and other 6 u can buy ALT coins.
My recommendation,
  • Cardano (ADA)
  • Sia (SC)
  • Ripple (XRP)
But invest at your own risk.

I think that you can divide funds by 50%, fix part in bitcoin and 50% on other altcoins, such as ripples, lumen, eth, btg. If you leave everything in bitcoin a little profit as a result, because already high price threshold.
