Edit: I have now invested 100% into Skycoin

I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.

My question is, what do I do now?

As far as I can see, I have 4 options;

1) Hold the Bitcoin

2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin

3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.

4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)

Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.

A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:

Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams. Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.

I would advice you to hold half of your Bitcoins and would recommend you to invest the rest of your Bitcoins in various projects. Holding your Bitcoins will surely be very profitable in the the long run whereas by investing, you give your Bitcoins a chance to grow in value. I would advice you to invest your Bitcoins in various progressive altcoins like nem, civic and litecoin. You can also invest in some promising upcoming ico like VICE which can be a huge thing in the future.

If i were you, i will hold all of my BTC until the price is increasing again,
if you only invest on BTC, maybe you can consider to buy some altcoins like ETH,Ripple,Neo,IOTA,
i think those 4 can be other option for a long term investments.

Convert 2BTC to fiat so so can save part in your local currency for obvious reasons. Then Keep another 2BTC in your reserve. The remaining btc can be used for ico, alcoin trading and everything you did to raise 0.1 to 12. Just continue with the cycle. If you can achieve the same level of success in the next 6months, then you can go and fund a project and solve a real world problem. Good luck and i wish i can be like you too

It is not advisable to convert bitcoin to fiat right now and 2 bitcoin is a large amount of money for his  daily needs. I would suggest that you convert a few bitcoin when needed. Bitcoin will continue to grow so converting to fiat earl is a big mistake. i prefer to convert it when all time high reaches again and took an amount whre you can leave your life for 6 months allowance.

Surely, hold the bitcoin.... as the tech improves, transaction speeds increase more and more people will start using, so the price is only going ot keep rising for the long term....
....and maybe keep doing whatever you are doing

Feel free to share some of your bitcoin trading wisdom!!

I will recomend you to hold it till bitcoin price increase to $20k usd. bitcoin soon will recover. investing in altcoin is also a good way if you expect a better profit. but it would be more risky. If you want to invest in altcoin, i recommend to buy Electroneum, XRP and Vibe.

That's a pretty impressive feat. Excellent trading and good job separating your gains from emotions because a lot of people get hung up on that and end up sticking around for too long and assuming losses. I know that was one of my early problems! Good job sir!

I think it is better to divide your money and invest in some altcoins and invest in promising ICO projects.

If I had a coin like that I would have survived half and a half more I would have used to invest in a new coin list on the market because the price would tend to be cheap and the possibility of a new coin price would go up even if it takes a long time, but with the coin note we invest surely we have studied its potential.

I dont know why you asking  question. If you can turn your 0.01btc to 12btc in just six month. My advice to you is to keep turning  your btc around, you could probably turn it to 100btc in 1 year.

I also agree that there is no need to sell now. hold it! you always have time to sell! I noticed that now many people write that they were in a hurry with the sale of Binkoin and now bite their elbows! SmileyBTCBTCBTC

I certainly would have left some of the funds in bitcoins. The rest I would invest in ethereum and different ICOs. Thus, I would increase the chances of success, because keeping all the funds in bitcoin is risky.

Keep on boasting. Better yet, share your experience as you earned them. In the same fashion, you translate a part into altcoyins and trade on the stock exchange.

Probably you must go only hold if you believe in bitcoin. But if thinking with free mind then need to withdrawl something!

Option 2 is the best. Invest in altcoins and leave a little amount in bitcoin.
