Yes that is right to say, you need to invest your 12 bitcoin in different places, investing money in one kind of business can be consider as risky. To me i think you should choose a right place to invest your money, you need to study the cryto market and try to choose good altcoin which have more potential and its value can increase too much and only ten you can expect to have a good and safe investment.

The op already invested his 12 bitcoin to skycoin,  for me it is good if they invest to the crypto coin because their money possible to earn a lot of profit once the skycoin increase,  But it's  better if his 12 bitcoin will  invest to the different altcoin like 6-12 altcoin brcause what if the coin he bought decrease or die his money also gone,  unless they bought a coin like different coin even of then decrease or die they hve other coin and the some capital their lose to other coin that they have and once the other coin increase they will back his capital.

Bitcoin is preparing to the moon trip  . You can wait before it's landing and then buy some good alts , or just cashout . Of course you can buy some altcoins now , if you sure they will get pumped before btc

At first you can just keep your Bitcoin. Or you can try leave 70% in the Bitcoin, 30% keep the aitcoins. Do not focus on one type of investment. Create at least four or more types of investments.

Edit: I have now invested 100% into Skycoin

I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.

My question is, what do I do now?

As far as I can see, I have 4 options;

1) Hold the Bitcoin

2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin

3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.

4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)

Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.

A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:

Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams. Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.

In your place, I would probably have left 11 bitcoins in some kind of cold wallet, and with 1 bitcoin I would probably try to invest it in promising projects and tried to make a bit out of 1, probably this is only necessary to understand what options are available and to make a competent decision .

If you have really 12 BTC ,Dont take too much panic bcz you are in the safe place in the world
But if you want to make more bicoin than you can move
1. hold 10 btc until it reach the top price
2. invest 2 bitcoin for trade alt currency
