The answer to this question is a "yes". Considering the fact that the currency is not regulated by the government, some are finding it very difficult to accept while some are looking for a way of regulating it; as this, differs from country to country.

Bitcoin has been around the borders of financial markets for less than a decade, but is slowly gaining importance as an alternative asset class.
Can the government of any major country step in and do the unlikely?

of course government of every country have right to decide what they want accepting in here country to protect of their people but i really believe if the government officials of every country understand the importance of bitcoin i think every country continue to accept bitcoin and legality comes.

Yes. Government of any country can ban bitcoin use in their country. But the bitter truth is that they will not succeed as far as internet remains.

Bitcoin is as good as the internet.

There is a wikipedia article about this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory

This page was recently updated today and I guess this is updated, countries that banned bitcoin are there and as well as those countries where bitcoin is legal.

South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Youbit has revealed plans to file for bankruptcy.
The decision to close operations follows announcements that the exchange was hacked for the second time this year.
Youbit is a smaller player in South Korea’s cryptocurrency market. It had been hacked once before in April when nearly  Shocked  Shocked 4,000 BTC were stolen in a cyberattack that the country’s spy agency linked to North Korea, according to a recent South Korean newspaper report.

An official at Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), the state agency that responds to cyberattacks, said the police and KISA officials were starting an investigation into the hacking.

Different countries have different opinion about the same. When you go through the list provided in the Wikipedia, it is clear that very few countries have imposed a ban over the usage into the country causing the user community stay without any sort of issues.

Surely things that were previously unexpected could have happened The origin of the government began to be depressed from the bitcoin that continues to increase Sehinggga appears panic that the original currency at the time will be replaced by bitcoin From there the government can automatically ban bitcoin developing again in a country.

According to my knowledge of cryptocurrency, the government can prohibit BTC but can not prohibit BTC transactions between individuals or through the intermediary of BTC trading platform. The nature of BTC does not depend on any organization or government, it depends on the needs of individuals together. So you keep calm BTC and trading on the trading floor BTC because it is absolutely legal, not breaking the law. The government banned BTC from fear it would affect the economy as well as finance.  Grin

will not be able to, unless they want to follow the bitcoin. Because basically they will never be able to stop bitcoin because the circulation of bitcoin is thorough throughout the world even though they are banning in their own country. Moreover, there are no laws and regulations that prohibit the circulation of bitcoin.

I think to block government bitcoin should require a very hard effort. because the system on bitcoin is very difficult to break because it is very safe. maybe hackers also can not do that.

Yes ofcourse. Other government actually banned Bitcoin in their countries. Bitcoin is decentralized and it is not controlled by the government so that other governments always tend and pushing to blocked bitcoin in their country. In their thoughts and minds, Fiats will be replaced by Bitcoins and physical money will be useless if bitcoin will enter in their country as well as the governments will not be usable because Bitcoin will destroy the banks. But, Bitcoin users still accessing bitcoins by using VPN (Virtual Private Network). This application or software can hides the real IP address (Internet Protocol Adress) of the user and it will replaced a new IP depended on what user what country will she/he would like to. Indeed, Bitcoin can be banned in their country but accessing bitcoin cannot be prevented.

yes, the government has full power to determine the legality of cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin. and that's what's currently happening in some countries. there is a banned, there are only prohibited as a payment but not forbidden to have it / investment.

The government forbids bitcoin Huh
I think it's impossible for people to stop using bitcoins right away.
How can the government stop bitcoin, in what way? Bitcoin can not be penetrated, in track.
if in a country it is true to forbid it still bitcoin will continue to run behind a thick wall wall that will not be seen.
Drugs that are clearly prohibited by all countries until now can not be stopped, let alone bitcoin. Grin

I think bitcoin is possible banned by government. Because of the volatility too high and people hide from tax make government banned bitcoin. Why is it impossible? How if all of government banned bitcoin?

Yes of course, there are few countries that banned bitcoin. It is their right to do that if bitcoin will pose a big problem or can cause a threat to the economy. Though I have something for you to read. Here are some link as to why some Government will choose not to ban bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not owned or controlled by any government or corporation. Bitcoin network is peer to peer and fully decentralized.
yes they just want to banned the bitcoin that the government can afford to disable and to banned it because they just have the ability to banned the bitcoin in a one country and the government only has control if they want to banned a bitcoin
