All these forks. How many Bitcoin forks are there? What's next? Bitcoin Button, Bitcoin Hip, Bitcoin cool?

I'm thinking maybe I should change a couple of lines of Bitcoin and create my own fork.

I love this type of comments.  Huh Go on and do it then! Unless you're not able to, which is the case most likely and you're just spreading fud...

well let me ask how many coins and token exist? according to coinmarketcap 1375 cryptocurrency + the ones that are not listed in coinmarketcap.com
in a year or 2 i guess there will hundreds of bitcoin forks,so far:
Bitcore
BitcoinCash
BitcoinGold
B2xSegwit
BitcoinDiamond
Super Bitcoin
BitcoinX
United Bitcoin:https://www.ub.com/
BitcoinAtom:bitcoinatom.io / https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2515675.0
BitcoinUranium:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2316506.0
semux:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2159012.0
segwit2x:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2595620.0

--------------
Bitcoin Clashic:http://bitcoinclashic.org/

some forks are yet to happen, some will succeed some will die before thy were born.

Do they have a real use, or is it a money grab by the forkers?

Same thing as with ICOs, you need to be looking at the benefits of the project. Whether there are some features that can be of any use for the community or not. Many forks are just useless. This fork offers something innovative, that's why I like it. It's essential devs manage to make it happen, but so far so good

I tend to agree with you. I did a lot of research about this project and it seems solid to me. Only time will tell though

Fork is basically a change to the software of the bitcoin that creates two separate blockchains with a shared history. It means that once the Bitcoin Atom fork takes place, there will be 2 different blockchains from then on with same transaction history, while one will go further as bitcoin (BTC) and one as bitcoin atom (BCA). I hope it makes sense. Smiley
