I hold altcoins too and it's actually pretty good cause you can withdraw money from altcoins before the fork while you can sell at its peak and then when more users decide to sell cause of fork, the price of altcoins goes down. You wait through the fork and buy altcoins back while the price is lower than when you sold. You earned on altcoins plus you got your fork coins, win win
