the interface for the miner says it is stable and never reflects issues. It seems to work again if i click 'start miner' but that isnt solving the constant ups and downs

Use thier Kncminer port, its 12234 I think, it starts at a higher difficulty. I have run my miners on it the last 4 days and its been stable.

Hmm, you know I was thinking of doing that myself but never got around to it thinking that the their dedicated kncminer port would not start with a higher diff but do some other magic. I shall try that out with one of my bitfury rigs and see how stable it is. Thanks for the tip!

Yes, there's a reason many oem's are pulling out of retail.  There's tremendous workload associated with providing quality customer service, a solid refund policy and fast shipping.  Adding credit cards has increased our administrative costs due to the amount of credit card fraud.  In order to honor refund requests, I've sent millions in BTC and USD.  In addition, the presale market continues to set lower bounds on price, despite the fact the we ship and they dont.  Price fluxuations in BTC drive ROI models crazy, putting pressure on us to lower prices.  Leased haspower is at least currently demanding an attractive premium over offering retail.
MBP was and still is focused on building mines.  Retail sales has been a great way to involve the community, and initially generated some good capital, though we haven't done anything like the sales of KnC, Cointerra, etc. and in the face of 28nm, our product has become "legacy" equipment already.
All this being said, we still have an idea of what we are willing to sell our hardware for, and that is reflected in our prices.  I dont typically respond to price wars, nor do I ever engage on forum arguments about ROI.  The price point each miner will pay is a personal decision and everyone has a different strategy. 
If my prices don't appeal to you, I encourage you to shop around!  But I hope this is not perceived as a.lack of support to the community.  I remain committed to bringing our next gen products to this community along with continuing to field the best customer service and support team in the market today.

While I would also love to buy more gear from Dave at bargain prices, I have to say I find it quite odd that he gets so much flack about not slashing his prices in this market when the remaining supply is limited. He and his associates took the risk, put in the blood and sweat equity to make it happen and they have every right to operate as they see fit. I consider Dave one of the best suppliers in bitcoin mining market, having dealt with just about everybody. Dave worked day and night to deliver the first batches of hardware. He ran a transparent operation and busted his ass to take care of his customers. I think if everyone really knew how much work it is to do what he has done in the past year there would be less outrage about pricing and more appreciation for what he delivered.

Wohoo Good news. It seems using the kncminer port has stabilized my bitfury rigs on Eligius. Sorry btcguild, you're still an amazing pool but I am forced to move due to no fees. For small miners such as myself 3% is a LOT.

Anyways, let's hope it continues to be stable. So far it's only been been 30 minutes, but before I would notice the hashrate drop after the first 2 to 3 minutes, so it's definitely as stable as on btcguild.

Well it should be considering cex.io uses bitfury gear. Also the fact that you can manually set a minimum diff is important too.

Supply is limited??  Where???   Bitmain and avalon are shipping like crazy!!!  I have yet to see them restrict sales beyond there shipping/production capacity!  and the flack is coming about being cost competitive to the ones that are shipping and have giant qty available.

I am sure that he did bust his ass, that is required of a business person, and I am also sure he reaped the rewards of it.  Avalon was the first asic and bitmain didn't even offer the preorder bs.  They busted there ass on their own dime. 

There first batch was in the mail within days of payment.  Can Dave say that?  I would consider that the best experience.  I order, it comes in the mail, no waiting for development.

Although the preorder market is much better from a business perspective.  No loan payment, no interest, no stockholders, and increasing ratio of btc to usd that was paid to them.

How much work is involved is not in question, I am sure that all of the manufactures have gone trough equal effort to deliver product,  I am sure everyone who has received his product is grateful. The point that people are making is if he wants to have more grateful customers, lower prices are in order to remain competitive.

 I don't really care what he does with his pricing, and I don't know about the others.  I was curious if he had planned to become competitive within the near future or if my business should go elsewhere, the piles of antminers speak for themselves.

Yeah, but for some reason I have a bad connection to them specifically, like clockwork I lose network packets to them for about 2 hours every night at like 4 am, its really odd.

I don't get this problem with Elegius, and now that the KNC port works my miners have had 100% uptime for 5 days in a row.

Oh, and I like their stats page a lot better.

Here is an update. After 24+ hours of uptime I'd say it's safe to declare bitfury hardware stable on Eligius (using the KNCMiner port).

MBP is 3x as expensive as Bitmain, at least at the nominal speeds. 2x as expensive when overclocked. The Bitfury guys are way out of touch with the mining market now.
