I have a very simple tactic. I invested in cryptocurrencies and gave myself the setup to sell them just when I save up for a good car. Now the market is in a drawdown, but I'm not upset, I just hold.

When you set high targets for yourself like a car or a house then there is a high chance that you never make any profit as you never sell until you reach your dream. I find it easier to set small goals, take profit often and cash out from time to time.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Just wondering if ya'll have a typical formula you go by or a certain X percentage profit or loss.

I've been playing around with coins for just under a month now. $23750 total investment and currently up just under 10k in profit. One of the coins (IOTA) has gone up about 288%.  Obviously it would suck if it crashed but it would equally suck to sell if it continues to grow.

Just wondering what a lot of you folks do. I'm considering investing another 25 or 50k into coins. Ideally I'd like to net 15k a month off them but I know that may not be realistic on a monthly basis.
I mainly invest in promising coins and hold these coins for a long term.  And I wait when the price of a coin grows 3-5 times.

In fact, there is a nonlinear dependence in investment. The more your capital the more profit. If everything goes well. And you need to look average. During the year it may be 15K every month.

The most important thing is not to be greedy.  If you decide that you will sell coins when the price grows 2 times, then it's better to sell coins or at least part of the coins in order not to lose everything.

Not counting myself an expert in that area, but I'm trying to press as far as I can when the coin is growing, just when I will see some signs of peak when it will fall after I'm immediately selling.

You'd better wait, as there will be more profits and you will overtake your goal, it will still fire, remember my words. Wait and everything will turn out for you. Thank you! Wink  Cheesy I agree with you, aspiration and progress always give a positive result, if you are stretching before him and trying to be successful. Cool Cool Cool

Any weak coins or small amounts of any coin can be sold at any time. It's also nice to sell the coins on big stages - the release of the product, the exchange list, and so on ...

When the rate is average, or slightly above average - it's time to sell. I'm not chasing a big profit, for me the main thing is not to go into negative. It is better to be safer than to risk in the current market conditions!  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Looking at my transaction history, the right moments to sell almost most of the time was the moment it appeared in my wallet ...I lost several times for trying to hold alts, not recomend  Undecided .

Hi there,

I see that you have made a good profit there. If you are day trading / swing trading set yourself an entry and exit point for a trade. You can ride the trade if it continues to grow. Whenever you see a trade reversal then you might sell.

Kind regards,

opma

I have come to realize people will tell you when to buy, but will never tell you when to sell, that's the decision you make for yourself. As for me, once I get 5% profit am okay. I live to trade another day than losing all in the quest of getting 10%.

I will always explore the coin if it has great potential. I only choose a coin that has a real product and a strong development team. If the coin does not work or changes in movement within 2 years, I will sell it and find another good coin. I'm a long term holder so it's up to you.

I offer my altcoins when their qualities acknowledge fundamentally when contrasted with the past For all cryptographic forms of money we realize that joining of this sort of venture is dangerous and capricious so accordingly this is the best system as far as offering your coins and we called this an offer it high and get it low technique in which even you earned a little without a doubt however at any rate you earned than lossing your speculations at all.market esteem and that as a rule happen when the altcoins get recorded on the trade.

Just check the value , for example in forkdelta you can use that website so that you will know the price of a certain coin in the market. And it depends on you if yo want to sell in that price, or willing to wait as the price pumps immediately. Being risky is important in this cryptoworld.

To be honest, i really don’t know when to sell. I don’t have any proper strategy. I usually like to hodl my altcoins but sometimes if i need cash then i just sell them. I know it sounds a bit stupid but this is my way  Cheesy

In the crypto currency industry being rush isnt needed because the more patience you have in yourself the more profit you can gain at the end. As of now we are currently in the season where altcoins are cheaps and much more cheaper than we expect but at the same time we can use this opportunity but not to sell but to have more altcoins that we can use for our future and gain more profit like other said if you do greed for a big profit then you are rushing everything just to get what you want then dont expect a large profit at this moment maybe sooner or later time will come for the right season for the altcoins but it will ends to your minds and hands what will you choose thing to do.

When I buy it at a low price and it raises to 500%, I think I will sell it.

This is the most common strategy but if the certain Altcoin has a huge potential then i will keep on holding except if i really need the money for my special spending or specially in case of emergencies then i will just sell my Altcoins too but if there is no reason to sell that better to hold it as long as the market performance of my Altcoin is stable.

It's simple , if you can make a profit , I sell without even thinking . If the price goes down , I don't sell

Experienced traders and users usually say that each coin/token would have a decent pump, even the worthless and weakest one. You just need to be quick and fully ready.
For more quality assets there could be several rises so you just manage your yield by yourself. And of course such assets should have a history to track it's all time highs.
If it is a fresh token from ICO and I see no real future for the project I would sell as soon as the price hits ICO price without bonuses.
Thank you for this advice. Many people lack experience and I love this forum because we can get some word from experienced traders.
