Hello Bitcoin Community,

the long-standing members might remember the prediction thread created in 2014 which was based on an artificial neural network and was created as a hobby project.

Fast forwarding nearly four years the world of bitcoin, blockchain, data science and artificial intelligence nearly completely changed.

Cloud services and cloud computing are common and cost efficient, advances in hardware and software development made machine learning and especially deep learning becoming affordable and it is starting to be widely used among businesses, the revolution of the immutable blockchain is clearly beginning to unfold while Bitcoin is at an all time high of 13.400 $.

Therefore our group of leading scientist and bitcoin enthusiast decided to found project Peculium - combining the power of AI with the revolution of the blockchain to create AIΞVE.

The ultimate goal of our project is to stabilize the volatility of the market through new saving mechanisms.
AIΞVE should not be solely though of as a classical trading tool (Wall Street like trading algorithms) but as a solution for the people to secure and bring confidence into the crypto and bitcoin ecosystem.

Even though our AI which is based on automatic machine learning is quite young - version 0.1, includes only a part of her planned abilities regarding predictive analytics and that we still need funding - we believe she can already manage to forecast the market price of Bitcoin and some other cryptocurrencies within an acceptable error margin of 3.4% especially under the fact that she is autonomously learning from her mistakes.

For this reason we would like to publish the first prediction results of our creation AIΞVE and at the same time propose the Bitcoin Community a little challenge!

Human participants have time until 02:00 (+00:30 h extra time as a prediction advantage) GMT+0 to post their price predictions for the next day at 00:00 GMT+0 in this thread.
If you edit your prediction post it will become invalid and will not be counted!

Example: If you wish to make a prediction for the price on friday 08.12.2017 23:59:59 GMT+0 then you would need to post you prediction until the latest on friday 08.12.2017 at 02:30 GMT+0.

The winner of the challenge is the participant - human or AI - who has the least prediction error averaged from her/his 10 best predictions.
If you miss a prediction date(s) then your missing prediction(s) will be calculated as the average error of all human predictions for that day.

Everybody knowing exactly what the market looks like tomorrow makes for no market at all: the definition of a market is to exchange something of different value for the participants. Not something of equal value.

I mean, the ideea is very cool, but you should keep it secret if you actually plan to use the bot/ai for something.

the volatality in the crypto markets is mainly because of the lack of liquidity and of the price discovery of a completely new asset class e.g. lack of information about the fundamentals.

In our todays digital world - especially crypto - the volume of data blasts away every human understanding and even the most recognized experts have difficulties to keep up with the newest developments.
This is where the power of Big Data Analysis and Automatic Machine Learning comes into play - it discovers the best possible projects based on all global available data and ever evolving algorithmic market models and could put most needed liquidity in exact such projects.

One example could be:

In the future there will be rumours of china banning the private mining of Bitcoins while nationalizing every ASIC producer and mining farms.
The whole world knows it is real (AP fake tweet sends DOW into free fall) except that it is fake.
AIEVE's Big Data Analysis and Automatic Machine learning could forecast a mega dump and recovery of the price because AIEVE knows the news are fake and could step in to lessen the volatality while profiting.

This is already reality in classical stocks.
Wall Street companies are running super computers for market prediction algorithms and these are fighting over profits with each other - for years already.
The future is not set in stone, it is also ever evolving based on every market (or market relating) participants decision and exactly this is the main problem we humans face: hugely increasing data volumes which nowadays can only be analysed by computer software.

So i believe like everyone is talking about AI becoming medical or legal advisers, it is inevitable that we soon will have AI based financial advisers.

I definitely beat AIEVE on day 1, by a few thousand at least, would be nice to see who is winning every day, so if someone gets 2-3 days right he can just cruise through the week and get average margin of error and still end up the winner, this should be a valid tactic according to the rule set...

Yes indeed this is possible.
At the start AIΞVE does supervised learning and in the mid term she will able to do unsupervised learning.

Guess this wasn't the right place to ask my earlier questions but I posed them today in Telegram and I got to say, you've got quite an able expert in your CTO (Abed Ajrao). So from what I understand, AIEVE takes little, if at all, from TA, and is basing predictions purely on ML and AI from deep data and big data analysis. Interesting to test the capacities of billions per second, but based on what's already available, I suppose there isn't even an instance for that kind of crunching just yet.

Anyway, what's good is that human irrationality in the markets is seen not as part of the problem but the equation to solve, with NLP on board.

Now, on to my prediction for 14 December: Bitcoin price will be at 16,877. Just because I like undercutting my own ambitions!

I'm going to stick with my next prediction to stay the same as yesterday's and see if I can mentally force Bitcoin to stay above $16k haha. The way I've noticed, this week's going to be swinging 16s. But Bitcoin's pretty resilient this week, double pressure of futures and South Korea regulatory news doesn't seem to have done much to weaken it, though the outflow to alts is a theory worth visiting

This is where the power of Big Data Analysis and Automatic Machine Learning comes into play - it discovers the best possible projects based on all global available data and ever evolving algorithmic market models and could put most needed liquidity in exact such projects.

One example could be:

In the future there will be rumours of china banning the private mining of Bitcoins while nationalizing every ASIC producer and mining farms.
The whole world knows it is real (AP fake tweet sends DOW into free fall) except that it is fake.
AIEVE's Big Data Analysis and Automatic Machine learning could forecast a mega dump and recovery of the price because AIEVE knows the news are fake and could step in to lessen the volatality while profiting.

Me and a friend is talking about this a while ago, because we don't believe in exactly predicting the market, I have some profession in mathematics and I know about statistics and probability and you need to have a a given value to solve a problem, and the market is a real time changes, unless all of the sellers and hodlers are United to sell and hold we won't be able to predict the market just like that. And I wonder if a supercomputer can even predict a real time change.

AIEVE should not be solely though of as a classical trading tool (Wall Street like trading algorithms) but as a solution for the people to secure and bring confidence into the crypto and bitcoin ecosystem.

If everybody would be using an advanced AI to very exactly predict the market, what would the point of trading be? IMHO, obiously you would need LOW adoption for your tool to make it valuable.

Everybody knowing exactly what the market looks like tomorrow makes for no market at all: the definition of a market is to exchange something of different value for the participants. Not something of equal value.

I mean, the ideea is very cool, but you should keep it secret if you actually plan to use the bot/ai for something.

This is already reality in classical stocks.
Wall Street companies are running super computers for market prediction algorithms and these are fighting over profits with each other - for years already.
The future is not set in stone, it is also ever evolving based on every market (or market relating) participants decision and exactly this is the main problem we humans face: hugely increasing data volumes which nowadays can only be analysed by computer software.

So i believe like everyone is talking about AI becoming medical or legal advisers, it is inevitable that we soon will have AI based financial advisers.

So the wall streets are using this? Man, this is a great disadvantage to casual traders, it's feels like cheating, but I still don't think that a supercomputer can predict a real time changes of prices. There maybe a probability and they are solving the best probable way but not predict a real time change of prices.

the Peculium platform will offer the same option! We have different contracts that allow you to modify the AIΞVE management or just get AIΞVE's data so that you can manage your account on your own.

This is a small challenge for people to see how viable AIΞVE already is and to see AIΞVE's prediction accuracy in comparison to human prediction accuracy.
If you look at this sheet you will see that - even though AIΞVE is v0.1 alpha - she beats the averaged human participants error nearly every time!

Looks like I should have been even more optimistic on my last guess, as Bitcoin just seems to chug away at new all time highs. I'm seeing more and more nervous people now, myself included to an extent, who feel that the impending crash is going to get worse with each week of delay and each new ATH to fall from. I'm really curious to know how far ahead AIEVE predicts, and if it will see the crash before it happens.

You were right on your first guess actually. You do have a small chance simply by participating even once. The rule means what it says, your missing prediction is the average error of ALL human predictions for that day only. In fact, for some people, they may have been better off leaving out their high error predictions and sticking to the average on some days. Yesterday, for example, only 6 people did better than the average error, although of course, one big error like yesterday's 12%+ brought that average down a lot!

And no, check the spreadsheet: there's still at least four more days to put in your submission, picks close at 2am GMT (about 9 hours from now). Looks like Bitcoin broke another ATH, so it looks like my error will be pretty high today.

Good thinkings - so let me explain with an example:

One way to have control about your savings plan would be supervised training of AIΞVE - that means you are training AIΞVE with data that yourself/your company are labeling.

In the longterm the other option would be investing in peculium funds supervised by an expert or company of your choice.

Crowd wisdowm is indirectly included through NLP and could be directly used with the above metioned options!

We are taking the best 10 predictions and average the error of these predictions.

If someome misses a prediction then the missing prediction will be replaced with that days human average error.

For example if someone does only 1 prediction then we will take the error of that 1 prediction + 9 best average human error. This will be averaged again and make the result.

Therefore the impact of such people is very low.


You can check the interim results until the 15.12 and see it - i updated the sheet yesterday.

Was sure I put up a prediction yesterday, perhaps am better off with the averaged errors after all, since I was half tempted to put a new ATH price above 20k! Maybe the CME futures are having a slightly stronger effect in combination with CBOE's? Read that thousands were bought at above 20k on opening day. What's interesting for me is that even in June, prior settling at $19,+++, was expecting them to be even more bearish, actually!

Anyway, still four hours left for this entry and BTC's been on a downward trend, but I expect a slight rally to calm down nerves after a frenetic start at Chicago. So my prediction stands at $19,565.

I'm almost glad I wasn't able to come online last night to put my prediction in (wanted to come in just before 2 am and actually stayed up following all the updates but just forgot. As it turned out, I couldn't foresee this huge dip at the moment, so would have been far in error.

Anyway, thanks criptix for the opportunity to participate. I think it was quite fun - but for next time, hope the second round requires a little bit of interaction, perhaps some very basic concept of how we arrived at the price. Might go a long way to proving that AIEVE doesn't need our TA or sentiments to make a good call. Maybe AI, big data and NLP are, after all, the way to the future.
