as long as I make a deposit, I do not find the problem in the deposit, but when it will withdraw, the time it takes long enough to get into the personal wallet, I advise do not withdraw using coins that have a solid transaction, in addition to withdraw you will be long also risk your withdraw will fail. besides that I choose to withdraw using other coins like doge..

I apologize for bringing out this old topic but all I could find by searching was from late 2017 and first quarter of 2018.

I'm just wondering - are these problems still ongoing or did anything change in the meantime?

Thanks for feedback.

Can you tell the whole story why you can say those words? I used hitbtc before and all my transactions are smooth. I don't if what you're trying is true because you don't tell the story. Please let us know so that we can avoid it. Thank you

I actually can't tell much, really. I've never used it before. Just want to put some alts on HitBTC to trade but I've read a lot of negative comments and I don't want to lose more money than I already did on different scams. That's why I'm asking - forum has a lot of members and I was hoping to get any newer responses, considering most of those accusations are close to 1 year old and a lot can change in crypto world in a year.

I received an interesting mail today, where the sender wanted to look like HitBTC exchange, but if you look closely you can see that it's written hilbtc.com.
Just a reminder that you need to pay close attention at potential scammers!

The problems are still going on but it is not that intense compared to before(a couple months or a year ago), for now they are doing it differently.
You can send or withdraw your coins safely from that exchange but in return you need to pay a lot of fees when you withdraw your money from that exchange.
but still, for me it is safe to use.

reminder : do not put all of your Bitcoin into that exchange, only a token/coin that you want to sell

NO ! You can not send money there and guarantee to have it back.

They can arbitrary decide to keep your money forever until you " meet the requirements", that's what happened to me, I sent them all the docs they were asking but they decided it was not enough so their bot kept asking the same thing until I give up.

They stole nearly 15k from me, I will probably never get them back and that's what they want.

Unless you funds are very low or if  money is not important for you and you are ready to lose it, DO NOT PUT ANYTHING on this scammers exchange.

I used to trade in this exchange and that was months ago so far I've got all my withdrawals but seeing many members are having issues with it, and the many new exchanges coming up my option is open to transfer to these new exchanges, with all these issues they are ruining their reputation.

Got scammed today for 100 btcp by HitBTC due to impossible KYC after year of trading on the platform. What the hell are these requirements, are you serious?

So yeah, I have to go and get officially stamped translations of my driver's licence and electricity bill. Wow, that must be cheap task to do.

And they need my social media accounts too, for what!!? To sell my identity to someone?

And propably the next step would be to provide all my btc/btcp transfers to them "to show origin of funds" which is near impossible task too if you have ever done more trading and transfers than just buying BTC from coinbase to a one single address. Especially if you ever used privacy functionality of any coin.

I've filled hundreds of KYC's in my life no problem including tens of exchanges, but this is the one that I just can't.

And yet, they reveal nothing from themselves. Absolutely nothing.

https://shitcoinoffering.com/hitbtc-exchange-mcafee-tolls/

Congrats, HitBTC just "earned" another 100btcp for making it literally impossible to fill this so called "KYC". Glad I got most of my money out before this, though.

Nothing but a bunch of low life thieves. Stay Away from HitBTC!

Dear trader,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

According to AML/KYC rules, which HitBTC exchange is subject to, our security department is monitoring all activities on our platform. Our goal is to stay secure and reliable, safety of every transaction being ensured.

Pursuant to internal policy on customer identification process, we kindly ask you to provide us with the following:

    A clear closeup photo of your document (international ID or driver’s license in English), being held in your hand. Scanned images are not accepted. If you don't have mentioned documents, please provide us with a clear notarially attested copy of your document in English language (i.e. official translation);
    A photo of yourself settled near your monitor with this ticket viewed on screen. You should be easily identified on the photo, and this exact text with the following picture should be entirely and clearly seen. It is important for the text on the picture to be readable;
A photo of your supporting documents in English (color copies): Proof of residence. It could be one of the options below:

Utility bill (except for mobile phone, satellite/cable TV or printed Internet bills) Electricity bill Bank statement Tax return/council tax Other documents with an exception of electronic bills/statements, online screenshots, mobile phone bills or credit card statements.

If you don't have mentioned documents in English, please provide us with a clear notarially attested copy of these documents in English language (i.e. official translation).

In addition, kindly update us with the data regarding your social networks presence, i.e. the links to your profile in major social networks.

In order to speed up the ongoing identification process, we also kindly ask you to sign in to your HitBTC account with any network data disguising tools (VPN, proxy) deactivated.

I'm surprised that some people are surprised HitBTC is proved a scam thanks to the "Proof of Keys" day!

I always check an exchange's deposit and withdraw policies, its trading fees, the minimum trade amount and the decimals allowed for a trade.
HitBTC was immediately seen as a scam by me when I checked them a year ago and about 3 months ago I put a review here: https://revain.org/exchanges/hitbtc/review-f44df7d0-bf99-4f41-9c97-a99aac0d243e

The exchanges which I use are (by order of preference),
KRAKEN
Bittrex
KuCoin
Cryptopia

Other than some Cryptopia's random altcoin maintenances which take long to be fixed, I haven't had any issue with the above exchanges.
I'll have to research how well they did during the Proof of Keys though.

Haha, we exposed Revain in March -> https://shitcoinoffering.com/revain-vol-2-pump-kings/  Cool

Verdict
Uhhh. What else is there to say? If some R coins have for whatever reason ended up in your wallet, you’d better sell them at the next peak. Revain is a team of obvious rip-off merchants. If you’re looking for thrills and adrenaline, you’d be better off going to the casino than getting involved with these gypsies. Remember the cinema classic?

This thread is about HitBTC if I'm not mistaken.
And I don't hold any Revain coins, I just wrote a couple of reviews there to see if they'd reward me anything after a while; if they had I would have sold and continue writing reviews but since they did not reward me, I stopped bothering with them.
I just mentioned my review link for HitBTC.

HITBTC is scam!!!
For a whole month they have been asking for what cannot be confirmed in my country, and have been holding my money since December 20th. This is the worst exchange of all, do not place your deposits there, if you do not want to lose them. For me personally, this exchange does not want to return 0.8 btk. I sent them all the documents for verification, all confirming screenshots and so on. They are still asking me for some documents certified by the seal of a lawyer or someone else. In general, this exchange is just a scam.
