Cryptsy says:  "Due to inactive developers and low hashrates, this coin will be delisted from the market on Oct 1st, 2013. Wallets will remain open indefinately.
close."

This is terrible news.  Is this a mistake?

BTC:
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Nope, they are starting to clean out the crap coins, and apparently they think GIL is one of them.

This is just preposterous, we all know Hydroponica has been doing alot of work on the client lately, and he's probably busy coding right now as well. Difficulty is usually around 0.2, was at about 0.5 at some point, it's not as much, but not so few hashing power that it would make a reason to kick the coin out.
The trading volume of GIL has been quite steady as well, this is just absurd, seriously Cryptsy didn't even examine it properly.

Indeed, after the updates Hydroponica very obviously just recently made, everything works perfectly fine, blockchain is unified, all my coins are still accessible, miner is hashing away,
I'm really curious to know in what kind of reality the Cryptsy staff seems to live in, GIL ist only just starting to become more popular.
Now that all issues with the client are fixed, everything is set for success.

I mean you just can't say Hydroponica wouldn't be commited enough, he did organize a pool, is doing upgrades whenever needed, he's recruiting new members to the dev team, he even set up an entire fucking Forum dedicated to GIL, all that is left to do is promotion now and we'll find ourselves spending GIL on some nice services such as coingas soon!

Coin Gas has also de-listed the coin, with only a week to go until the cryptsy drop the situation has become a risk I cannot monitor.  I really like GIL and am sad to see you go, as soon as another BTC trade source becomes available let me know and I will re-list you without question.

Get some hash, and check the pools maybe they are on the wrong chain, coinchoose says 685kh but one of the pools is reporting 25mh, I get the feeling that if some more hash is directed on this coin before the drop it might be avoided. I also check in the wallet and coinchoose is giving the same networkhasps as my 7.3 Wallet.

GIL Recovery Plan

1. fix the pools            Current block is above 108430
2. get coinchoose the block explorer fixed
3. approach bter for listing, they seem to be after a few new coins recently
4. approach the sci-fi/fantasy exchange for possible listing
5. when the hashrate is more than MST approach cryptsy for ltc market listing Acheivement Unlocked!
6. provide an all in one archive with conf file and blockchain with instructions for use or fix the client so it doesnt need them
7. work on coin related services

gil.conf
Code:
#==================#
# Network Settings #
#==================#

## Run on test network instead of real network.
testnet=0

## Accept incoming connections
listen=1

## Enable UPnP negotiation with router/firewall to accept incoming connections
upnp=1

## Port to listen for P2P connections on.
port=64575

## List of peers to connect to as public nodes.
addnode=207.12.89.80
banscore=1

#===================#
# JSON-RPC settings #
#===================#

## Accept incoming RPC connections
server=0

## Username and Password for HTTP BASIC authentication.
rpcuser=
rpcpassword=

## Listen for RPC connections on this TCP port.
rpcport=64576

## List of IPs allowed to connect through RPC.
#rpcallowip=10.1.*.*
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

readme.txt
Code:
copy gil.conf to %APPDATA%\Gil
extract the blockchain to %APPDATA%\Gil

if you want to solo mine edit gil.conf and set server=1 and a strong rpc user and password

www.coingas.com supports the prevention of Cryptsy dropping this coin! That is 1 service, if others feel that GIL is worth saving from this round of de-listing please show your support also.

My suggestion, is if you want to help save GIL, get on the CoinEx thread, and show support to have them host a pool, and trade it on their exchange.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291647.new#new

Developer support, means very little, apparently. GIL needs strong community support, to stay alive
