I gotta put this on here in case some don't read my other crazy threads. This is a great find! Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust on Bloomberg w/ Screenshot!October 23, 2013 BTC, Crypto News, TradingCryptoNerd This changes everything. From what we gather the, recently announced ETF is in the approval process, and Bloomberg is just waiting for the go ahead. It seems the software is in place, so how far off is this fund, really? It could be sooner than any of us imagined. The bigger question yet though, is what does this mean for the price of Bitcoin now? Bloomberg Screenshot - Bitcoin ETF ready for trading: Awating final Approval!

Do I know you? Why do you call me Paulica? Yikes! Spooked me a bit, bro. Definitely looks like Bitcoin will hit $1,000 first and it should happen in the coming year and most likely on news of a public ETF. And if Bitcoin sky rockets past $500 and to $1,000, then definitely 99% of alt coins, and especially scrypt coins will get killed. So then you have to choose that one coin which will make it and perhaps be the next Bitcoin or at least the next Litecoin. But something is gonna happen I think to give rise to a new, bigger currency and if one can figure out which one that will be then you can make millions overnight. This is obviously a really long shot but if you're in cryptos you should diversify, but I would stay away from scrypt coins cause without a clear leader and without ASICS and merge mining they don't stand a chance. Edit: My number 1 choice for the next Bitcoin is ixCoin. Not sure if you're new to this thread or not. The regulars here know I've been neck deep in ixCoin for a few months now. Good luck.

Anybody wanna sell any Bitcoins?
I'm offering $180 via PayPal. $180 is about what you'd get on Vircurex but without the hassle. I have a good rep, I haven't ripped off anyone.
Please let me know.

No, you're fine. I moved it back to where it belongs since it seems we're back on topic now. Or more like no topic.

Just wondering what your logic is in saying most alts will be killed if BTC hits $1000? If anything, I think it would add more alts, since they would see there is money and interest in Cryptocurrencies. Also wondering why you beleive Scrypt coins will be destroyed if BTC hits $1000.

I said 6 months ago when there were around 6 viable alts that we'd have 300 in the next 12 months and 3,000 the year after and that's looking more true now than ever. There will be more alts than ever but if you look at the correlation between Bitcoin and most coins, especially scrypt, there's a massive negative correlation which means the higher Bitcoin goes the lower the scrypt coins will go. The reason is 3-fold.
A) No real [ RISING] leader for Scrypts - like a Bitcoin. Sorry but Litecoin is another dying CrapCoin. B) No ASICS which is a major issue as ASICS will be plentiful and cheaper than GPU's soon C) No merge mining for scrypt. Now you can mine a rising Bitcoin and another 5 alts for free and soon there will be a dozen or more you can mine for free with your ASICS as you mine a higher and higher Bitcoin. So as Bitcoin goes higher and ASICS get cheaper Scrypts will become an increasingly losing proposition. They don't stand a chance unless A and B are fixed ASAP, which will naturally bring about C, and thus, level the playing field. But my guess is A and B will never happen which means most or all Scrypts will die by late next year. So stick to SHA256 and preferably merge mined coins as those will have the best to survive the coming Bitcoin spike to $1,000.

I personally think having no ASIC's available for Scrypt coins is what will keep them going. But I will agree to disagree with you on that one. Guess time will tell.

Check out this clip from the most recent Winklevoss ETF application.
Apparently the Bitcoin foundation can do anything they want to Bitcoin. This includes changing the protocol itself and adding more coins.
Lol, I've long said nothing about Bitcoin is set in stone, especially not the 21 million coins Roger Ver keeps parroting, and as most here know, these guys running the foundation have their own agenda, and it's mostly profit based, and they have met with pretty much very government agency including the spooks. So I expect a sweet surprise coup, a betrayal by this foundation which could be the spark which gives rise to a new bigger CryptoCoin.
Enjoy!Mutiny on the high seas!

Vlad please learn how to read. The quoted post says nothing about the foundation. Please also learn HOW Bitcoin works. The foundation can do whatever they want and existing nodes will see those changes as invalid.

Seriously, I can't read? Hahaahaaaaa!Let me help you, follow the bold underlined words, and remember the development team is the Foundation and nobody can stop them which is why DarkWallet via CoinPunk is raising crowdfunding this very moment and even has a video out showing how Bitcoin has been straying. I think you need to do a little research as there's already a shift to move away from Bitcoin in the inner circles as Bitcoin moves mainstream and gets regulated and centralized.
Now let's try the short version with large letters:
The development team [the Foundation] can propose amendments to the Bitcoin network's SOURCE CODE through on or more SOFTWARE UPGRADES that ALTER the software AND protocols that govern the Bitcoin network AND the Properties of Bitcoins INCLUDING the irreversibility of transactions and LIMITATIONS on the mining of new Bitcoins.
