Of course this is real.  If you are lucky and you choose a good coin, then the price for it can grow 50-100 or more times and then you will earn your 1 million.

If one were to buy and hold solid  avaerge coins (not a coin that kicks out and gets 10000% gain), but rather a nice steady gain like eth, Ltc etc (top 20) and starts with 10k, is it possible to reach a million without trading and buying/selling at highs and lows? If so, how long would you predict it would take? Or are most coins not going to last long term, so every 6 months would I have to rebalance with newer coins?

If you look at the history of some coins, then this is quite possible. Having invested 10 000 dollars in a coin with a low price and a great potential of a year after three or four can become a millionaire. The most important question: in which coin to invest their money?

A million dollars is possible if you bought at a cheap price not when a coin has become popular. Some coin that is at $1 today started at $0.006. A good example is Ripple as at last year March the price of Ripple was at $0.006 but it hit about $3 January this year.So if you invested $10,000 on Ripple last year at $0.006  your profit would run into millions.

Of course it is possible, depending on how much you will make a purchase and at what time, if you bought bitcoin in 2011, and waited 6 years, you would have become a billionaire.

Very much possible if you focus on newer coins. For instance, Refereum is around a cent. If you put 10k here, it will be over a million in next few months as its value goes beyond $1. I like the coins valued around $0.01 and will wait for them to be $1 - electroneum, selfkey, thekey, helbiz to name a few.

Moat likely possible of you will focus on latest coins. For example, refereum is about a cent. If you will place 10k here, it will be ober a million in the next coming months, as its value raises beyond 1 dollar. I like coins that are valued around 0.01 dollars and will wait it until it becomes 1 dollar. To name a few, there is electroneum, thekey, and helbiz. Rember that nothing is impossible.

Look one can say perfectly how long you have to wait nut example if you invested 10k USD just one years a go in litecoin then you will become a millionaire now and if invested into Ethereum then you will be very close ethereum then you will be close to becoming a millionaire at this time.

Depends on what you're investing in. There is quite possible to make 500% per year . But for this you need a head on your shoulders and knowledge of the market

at this point in time, market seems bit saturated until big money enters the market, although keeping crypto's nature in mind if one could ride a heavy pump (see majority altcoin chart for reference) you could be a millionaire in one trade. for now, holding few strong coins and being the one to discover the new coin on a shitty exchange and buying shit load & then unloading when it gets listed on any of the of exchanges as apart of market discovery, might be a good trade if one wants to be a millionaire quickly.

 With holding, anything is possible, a Million USD however can be far fetched that will take a considerable time. years to be precise, besides some will feel that they have gained enough and will want to cash in at some point.

Yes, I think this is possible in the next five years. After all, everyone wants to be financially stable and independent, the crypto market in this regard becomes an ideal choice.

It seems to me today it is already impossible, too many altcoins share the total capitalization, not a single coin can do such a ROI today.
