Generally to make a million is not difficult, you about 10-20k$. and just double every month. I've been counting for about half a year now. but where to take such money, it is another question.

If you hold coins within the top 10 in coinmarkecap.com. And you have a lot of amount of tokens, lets say 1000 usd worth of that tokens, give or take you hold it for almost 5 years. Im pretty sure, you can gain millions in return. But it is still depends on the supply and demands for that coin you choose to.

If one were to buy and hold solid  avaerge coins (not a coin that kicks out and gets 10000% gain), but rather a nice steady gain like eth, Ltc etc (top 20) and starts with 10k, is it possible to reach a million without trading and buying/selling at highs and lows? If so, how long would you predict it would take? Or are most coins not going to last long term, so every 6 months would I have to rebalance with newer coins?

I think it is quite possible if you have enough knowledge and resources and of course enough luck

It is very much possible. The crypto currency boom can be compared to early days of internet and dot com boom so the public participation and mass mania is still years away. Still very good market with hundreds of percent gains yearly by just holding any top coins.

Possible, if you bought ethereum 1 year ago with your 10k usd. Now you would have 600k USD. Very close to become a millioneire 
If you bought litecoin 1 year ago with 10k usd, you would already have 1 millione usd in your pocket 

Interesting stats! I think the next coin to follow ethereum and litecoin is NEO. Lots of people are predicting an ETH like spike in prices this year so 10K USD in NEO could well be worth 1m USD next year! It depends on how patient you are, and if you can just buy and forget about it.

There are many coins which can give us a huge profit in future but we need to learn about those coins first do proper research about that coin before buying it. If you would have bought Ethereum or Litecoin you would have earned million dollars but they are already increased in price. So it's better to find some other coin with low price and hold them and I am sure you will earn good profit from them in future but you need to hold them for a long term.

I think its not possible if you don't trade them, holding with that such amount will depend on when you enter. If the coins could rise up more than 100x then it will possible, but the question is which coins that could give you a 100x.

I think so if you invest as early as posible. If you invest 3 or 4 years ago in one of the major coin like bitcoin and ethereum I think you'll have a million dollar by now. But you can still attain that if you invest now in bitcoin, ethereum, and 2 or 3 more coins. But it will take some time before you reach that amount.
