I'm in need of some help, I've downloaded the wallet and gotten it running and synced up, as you can see in the first screenshot, I've added the two blockchain files to the wallet, but as you can see in the second screenshot, when the wallet finally loads, I get an error message in the bottom left of the wallet screen. What do I need to do to get this to operate properly?
You should add the two blockchain file to the starcoin folder inside your roaming folder "C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\starcoin". this will be your blockchain folder. Activat "show hidden files and folders" in your folder options because the appdata folder is a hidden folder. I appreciate the help... "A hunting we will go."

No, it doesn't work. How many broken coins are you involved in ? I'm losing count.

Thanks for telling me to enable the hidden folders, I never would have found them. It's all good now. Except for the price dropping on Cryptsy. lol

I've PM'd the dev.
He should respond within a day.
Point is, this coin will get fixed, and once it does it'll have a lot of value. Till this consider the current prices as low, and it's time to stock up.
It has fast confirmation times, quick difficulty changes, and supports transaction comments, all with PoS mining which makes 51% hard.
MUCH better than doge even at this broken state. It's twice as fast, and difficulty re-targets every block.

No, it doesn't work. How many broken coins are you involved in ? I'm losing count. I am not involved here. I answered the question. I already mentioned in another thread that I found _some_ of them when I first discovered the problem just to confirm to myself that the problem is common. Edit: And now I monitor the threads of these coins to see how fast they get fixed to understand the degree of dev's support.

You seem overly optimistic. The dev hasn't responded in this thread in months, and the PoS mining has been broken since the coin launched in July. StarCoin needs a new dev who knows how to fix it and is willing to do it and support this coin.

Can anybody get their wallet to sync? I shut mine down last night and opened it back up this morning and had it open for a couple hours and it just will not sync. It does show network connections, but it just does nothing.

StarCoin needs a new dev who knows how to fix it and is willing to do it and support this coin. Actually this stake problem was realized pretty late (14 days ago), the dev had made checkpoint to the source less a month ago (see GIT). Cause the coin was off exchange for more than 3 months, the dev checks it less often. There's quiet a lot of effort made on this coin. The artwork is good, there's transaction comments + stake mining + random block rewards; so looking at the date it was released, it's clearly not something you can make by copy paste; you need to do original code (or at least integrate code) to combine features found in multiple different coins. So we can safely assume the dev is skilled and cause he took a lot of effort making the coin, he cant let it go easily. It was a serious effort. He probably is not aware that it's listed in the exchange.

Restart the client and if still doesn't work, try deleting the block chain.

Restart the client and if still doesn't work, try deleting the block chain. No green at all, other than in one of the stars up in one of my transactions I made last night. It worked just fine last night once I got the new blockchains installed into it. So, I've just decided to try nuking the whole thing except the wallet.dat file. I've unpacked the wallet out of the original .zip file and replaced the blockchain files and deleted the new wallet.dat and copy + pasted the old wallet.dat file into the new install, now it's going back through the whole long synchronization again, but it shows my old transactions and has the green sync status bar working across the bottom and I know it's doing something. We'll see.

He probably is not aware that it's listed in the exchange. this is not completely correct. I found the similar problem with another coin at the end of December. On Jan, 8 when I found that stars have the problem with PoS I wrote a message to nzdude. On Jan 09 I realized that infinitevs is doing some work on the coin development already, so I wrote him a message. On Jan 15, I got a reply from nzdude where he says that infinitevs already showed the interest to take over the coin. At this time I was already involved as a dev into another coin. The latest commit was done more than a month ago and it was not related to checkpoints at all https://github.com/starcoinproject/starcoin/commit/352d5bf6f61e828315d85fc269de1871a548700bAlthough I am capable to fix the problem, most likely I have no time to take all this over: the coin support is not only the compilation tasks, but promoting e.t.c. e.t.c. e.t.c. And the most important thing is cryptsy: I do not see a potential in myself to force cryptsy to update the client.
