agreed there. erundook mentioned a bug in the bytecoin client which seems to have come from upstream. now that we have the bytecoin site up ill release a new client with working nodes built directly into the client

I was just going to ask why there's no working download for the Windows client. I'll host the Windows Bytecoin client here when you have one.

Too bad that BTE is dead again. I hope to see some increase in interest after next 650 blocks.

its not dead its in hiding and ive purposely kept it like that. ive asked for it to be removed from coinchoose and couinwarz. that way we can see how bte holds up without flash mining

nice that's a good idea Just need to round up a few people with a bit of hash power to a single pool. I've just not got enough power to solo it at the current diff

I mined some blocks in the 24192 - 26208 epoch. The difficulty was 14202. I miscalculated, and thought the block rate was 10 blocks / hour (6 min each) rather than 6 blocks / hour (10 min each) and as a result I mined a little too fast and the difficulty rose to 20975.
I have cut back the GH/s that I am sending to BTE. For the past 24 hours, the mining rate has been about 2.5 blocks / hour. This will cause the chain to stay relatively updated, and the difficulty should drop. If anyone flash mines faster after 14 days, the difficulty will still drop. A few people dropped in with huge hash rates and mined a few blocks during the past week, then left again.
I will try to strike a balance of gaining coins & keeping the difficulty low.
I would like to have software that will work with the cgminer API, perhaps in Python, and send lots of hashpower when there is a transaction to process, and then wait for a timeout to send more hashpower.

I try to be respectful and informed.
