Everyone is saying VERGE but it's pumped already. And it wouldn't be a good decission if you enter VERGE now. It's better to wait a bit more to see whether its price will go down.

Most of the coins have already been pumped. I am convinced that privacy coins will be major in 2018. One of the best (if not the best) privacycoins is XSPEC. I consider it pretty much the best privacy coin, the tech is impeccable, it has TOR with OSBF4 integrated, it is very fast and low power consuming and backed by a very strong team and community. Still very cheap for its value, 2018 will be a good year for Xspec. Buy some, you will thank me later .

XVG is already at high level, i dont think he would be over 2000sat because of his big supply around 16 billion coins. In the same tech i would invest in XSPEC which is under the radar but will definetely be adopted in 2018 with the coming version update and feature such as ring signature.
I also recommend QSP, a token with auditing utility.

I think you can use main part to buy bitcoin right now (maybe 70-80%) and use the rest to invest in altcoin. you can choose a cheap altcoin price so you can have a big amount of the coin and you can save in your wallet. I don't think you should buy any of the most popular expensive altcoins as we can't say if it'll increase drastically or not. Think about ripple, dgb, verge, sc, ada, and else and you can buy right now because the price is not too expensive.
