That's good. I would divide it into several parts and put it into different cryptocurrencies. For example in bitcoin, Ethereum and ripple . these are popular coins with good capitalization. I think that dividing between them the amount it would have been nice.

I would choose between eth and neo.  The best option is to divide the investment between coins.  ETH is now steadily growing in price every day.

If I have $7k fiat to invest in crypto, I will stll stick to my own rule. I will never buy an altcoin using the whole 7k, I will always spare the half of investment in BTC, then the rest is for altcoins.

Well you are right with splitting your investment to well known coins instead of placing it all in with one project, splitting coins will allow you to not being
broke right away just in case that your coins fell you still have some other coins to rely with, investment needs to have a lots of study, better to learn each things that will give you enough knowledge to take some extra advantage earning with crypto market.

Perhaps the new entrant will invest in BTC is the least risk. They are the leader of the market not easy to fall, so buy them and hold, while holding on to learn about the other altcoin. Then continue investing in other altcoins.
