Is ethereum going to be next bitcoin?

No ethereum can not be bitcoin. But I believe ethereum has a very bright future in the crypto world because ethereum has made it easier for us to make transactions and almost all ICOs use the ethereum platform.
So for the future ethereum prices will continue to increase and become the biggest rival of bitcoin.

not really in that way but since ethereum has a lot of functions and projects, the price of it might reach above of what we are expecting and also since the support of the are continuing and the investments are still coming,ethereum will definitely be still on the top of the altcoins in the cryptomarket.

I think it could happen, because if you see etherium has a big role in the world of cryptocurrencies, almost all ico projects use etherium platform as payment, and that means etherium is still badly needed in the future

Well, ethereum cannot be the next bitcoin but for sure the price of eth will increase at least at 1k$ in 2018. It's hard for any alt to take over bitcoin and if you ask me this is imposible right now but like I said eth will gather some more value.

I wonder what will happen to this coin when ICO will die? Many people already say that the ICO age is already gone. Probably ETH will lose its popularity. But who knows, there could appear decentralised ICOs in 2018.

I think ethereum has a potential to grow in the future. And look at its value today compared from the past. It grows alot. But i don't think it can surpass bitcoin.

Let me guess 5 years from now ethereum was not be close to bitcoin, even though their systems are fully developed and the staffs and project directors are work hard. Because bitcoin now have a good reputation also have a good foundation in crypto currency industry. Maybe ethereum have a healthy price in the market but they can't follow the path of bitcoin.

Ethereum is already a ' big thing'. Ethereum is special coin in every way. It would be foolish thing to compare with a random alt coin. It has many different uses and it keeps on improving it self. That's why it is one of the most used coins. In the future ethereum will get better and will pass the  $ 1000 -1500 . It is never a bad thing to hold your ethereum coins.

To my eyes it is inescapable for BTC to be replaced by an Altcoin in future, basically because of technical limitations that BTC has.
But I really don't think that new Alt would be ETH with unlimited supply and the current circulating supply of more than 96M.
I would suggest looking at LTC, or even BCC for that purpose.

Maybe it posible that etheruem will next on bitcoin but i think they will never surpass the price of bitcoin. Eth has potenial to give us good profit.

There is a chance for every coin to increase its value only if there are people who are supporting it and interested on investing because the value of the coins in the market is depending on the supply and demand so it only means that ico's do really have more investors in order for them to make their coins value increase.

bitcoin is bitcoin before i thought the number 1 alts that is next to bitcoin iss ethereum well i am mistaken the statement then, i will go now on waves as waves having its project now great and the  development is awesome. ethereum having some difficulty now and problems !

to be fair, it is very hard and almost impossible for eth to be the next bitcoin, but when it comes to future anything is possible.. we will see whats gonna in 2018.

I believed that ethereum is the future because it has the smart contract system which the bitcoin doesn't have and it also has a great blockchain network that the people can use to do transaction and also to use the system of ethereum to fully create their ideas and make it happen by creating a token under ethereum.

as long as the coin is still ERC20-based for me it will be difficult to achieve a high price different from bitcoin which has a unique type and platform from other coin. but so far bitcoin is still one of the best altcoins
