You can overcome depression by always being in a quiet place and forget the things that make us think about it that makes depression. Such people should have the support of their own families not to go deeper into the depths.

To overcome depression they're are many ways.You can tell people who are depressed that they can share their problems and don't keep it on their own. And as a friend listen to their problems carefully and cheer them up, let them cry so that they can release their sadness inside. Tell them that they are not alone in their problems and let them know that our God won't leave them alone. Always remember everything happens for a reason.

If you have reached a high state of depression then taking pills is the only thing.

Somewhat agree with what you are saying here. Depression can be caused as a result of many factors. There are cases in which depression results from medical conditions (such as an imbalance in the hormone levels). In such cases, it will be better to take medications.

Hi, I just wanna ask how to overcome depression? I have a friend and she keeps telling me that she don't to live anymore and that it is better to die, she has lot of problems but she just keep it on her own, she is so depress and i can't find the right words to make her feel better. And also can't a person overcome depression on his/her own?

Tell to your friend that she/hee needs to shout out hi/her problem, tell to someone who's gonna help his/her to solve the problem. Kill your self is not the solution for all the problems, you just need someone who can hear and help you with all your problems.

To overcome depression we must have faith in god.I believe god will help us in many ways.I believe there is a miracle.Just think positive dont understimate yourself,then family can help also spend time with them they are ready to hear the thoughts in our mind.

I believe you are a good friend of her hence you shared the problem here, just stay around as much as time you can give, and if you think this won't harm anyone, involve her in the outdoor activities you can do alone with her, there'll come a time she finally has a strength to talk to you.

I wouldn't say that a psychologist is the first option. First, you should seek the help from friends and relatives. In many of the cases, this itself solves the problem. Only if this approach fails, you should consult a psychologist and start taking drugs and therapies.
