Anyone can make their own decision whether they want to sold their btc now or hold it much longer. Op has made a lot of profits with it so if you look at the bright side, he still won.
Definitely every person comes with some different problems and their solutions., for some, there is holding that can last for long time as profits are concerned. Some are there who prefer day trading as they have some business in which daily income is needed. So this is difference between the strategies implemented by different people. Whatever someone do, do with interest.

I bought bitcoin at 18,700, and now it costs less than 14,000. But I'm not going to sell, I'll be waiting for the raise. I hope that after the new year bitcoin will resume its rise in price. Diversification does not always help. Almost all cryptocurrencies have fallen in price over the last 2 days.
You are going in a right direction. Do not sell your bitcoins because it’s price keep varying. After December 2017, bitcoin’s price will go higher for once again because most of people are selling their coins because of Christmas and new year.

Just hold them for long time period and I am sure you will definitely get benefit of it because after selling when its price will be low, then there will be more people who will buy bitcoin and its price will increase.

Everyone talks about big commissions and that Bitcoin will fall very much. Roger Ver log in, please.
Don't panic, you know than BTC is a very volatile and speculative cryptocurrency. Some people and groups of people can manipulate the fears of novice investors and traders.
It's just your decision to sell or buy.

I think the FUD here are really targeting newcomers. For us, who have been here for so long are not affected by any negative news. Even at the height of China crisis, I didn't blink an eye and just hold on my bitcoin. But today, since the price is dropping at $14K, people panic, someone created FUD forcing newbies to make the hard decisions to sell or incurred lost.

I also sold mine at $19K, everything to be honest. Not because I panic but because I needed the money. But seeing the price today, I will definitely buy bitcoin back again and will HODL on it until such time that I some some emergency situations in my end.

And remember, you will always see people here creating FUD specially when the price is going down. The best thing is to is not to be affected by the negative news, but to keep calm and think of it long term.

That Prepaid.com guy and freight joe and thier newbie accounts been spreading fud for the past 2 weeks.  I been calling it out, people are in here trying to cause panic in the bitcoin community, you guys are not fighting enough to report them for spamming useless topics

I understand that the moment is a little bit confusing and the volatility is very high..I also understand the thinking process of selling everything etc...
But i'm very happy to have done the opposite and for the first time I have bought some BTC. I really hope this year will be amazing!

Hi there,

first I want to say this (because I think many people that feel bad will read this as well) :

I think it that the price of BTC will go up again.. I cannot be sure, noone can, but it will probably be ok again.

But....I sold everything... My cryptocurrency that is Smiley
The reason is that I can not grasp the reason of the cause behind the value changing so much whenever it happens.

"ooooh now it went up a lot"...
"aaaaah now it went down a lot"

Then you google and google and wonder....WHY? Why did it go up a lot. Why did it go down a lot.
Sometimes you can find out about some guy with influence that said something on a conference on the other side of the World.
Sometimes it is because a site like coinbase made a mistake or introduced something new..

If lots of people buy, it goes up.
If lots of people sell, it goes down.
I understand...

But if I look at the big picture, it is still a mystery Smiley

So..while I still had a little bit of profit I sold everything.

I did not put in my life savings, but still enough to make me feel bad if the bitcoin would go down a lot more.

I also have to think about taxes (I hate doing taxes!). Here in Scandinavia I have to write down everything. All the order numbers, the amounts,,.... I will take me hours of looking up how to do it properly.
And then I have  to pay 30% taxes over the profit because they validate the bitcoin like a lottery here (and I see the resemblance as well!)
I also bought it from websites from other countries and then the amounts are of course in the wrong valuta... .....horrible....  Wink

I wish all of you "bitcoiners" a very happy 2018. May all of you have profits!! (I feel like a ferengi all of a sudden)

And ehh...I probably will be back again. Just like a lottery, it is a bit of a "kick" one can get out of having a profit.

Demesmaeker

There are many people who have decided to sell their Bitcoins. Currently, Bitcoin does not increase prices, causing many people to associate a collapse. But in my opinion, Bitcoin is a big coin, it does not fall easily, it will definitely increase.

Moment is not confusing at all, prices compared with prices from last year are higher. Only confusion is which coin to buy, just one or to diversify and buy couple different ones. This year can be amazing, like last one was and I believe that bitcoin will rise like many other alts. How much is hard to say, some will go 10 times higher, some just couple times, and I believe some will go 100 times. 2017 was so good year, and this year with so many new people will push the markets trough the roofs. Now everyone wish to be a trader or holder, people do both and everyone wish to become rich with help of Bitcoin and alts.

You should have kept something for future use, but you sold all the things, I request you to not sell again everything. Some has sold by frustration and panic of others, but you got some experience at this time so hoping to do Crypto'es in future.

So you sold everything and now you have to pay 30% taxes on your profit. But what will happen if you 'll be back, you'll buy Bitcoins again and then the price tanks and you sell with a loss. Will your country give you your paid taxes back?

We all know that bitcoin is extremely variable and very speculative. So do not regret the capital that you put in because there are days when the price of bitcoin is too high. Always remember no one can predict bitcoin prices. We should take a risk, All your suffering and patience are well-organized and should always positive

Patience is the key, when the price goes down you do not panic immediately,
which causes you to lose is you buy when the price goes up and you sell when its price goes down just wait at the right time...

And why invest only in bitcoin? You can decompose the sold bitcoin into several top coins and wait for one of them to shoot.

I think that we are in the same spot, I used to work on bounty campaigns by creating those translations and promoting their ico's through signature campaign, They are paying a decent amount of altcoins for our hardwork and i exchange my coins to bitcoins and wait for the highest price that will come up in the market and in the end, I always sell all my coins because i need the money. It depends on people's needs if they are going to hold their coin or if there's an emergency so its normal if this kind of scenario will exist we should not feel bad about it.

Bitcoin is not for everyone. It is extremely volatile and very speculative. Arguably, the trend towards higher prices will continue, but at some point there will be a crash. I think the crash -- the big one -- is a long way off, though. Diversification is key.

Ir is true. You really have to diversify your investment in order to truly maximize your profits. By doing this, you actually are playing the safest bet in case a crash happens. So whenever you feel like coming back and reinvesting in bitcoins, you might want to put your eggs on other baskets as well.
