Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I have a legitimate question for TheSwede and labcoin:

Proof of hashing means an address you can sign with and that has many generated blocks for an amount of time significant enough that we can calculate the hashing rate, right?

don't count on it

damn the frequency of those bounces is increasing rapidly with those "miscalculations" of deadlines.

Haha.. you should know that that isn't a "legitimate" question. That's called a dream.

Sure is expensive to buy a lottery ticket now. And if he comes through (for once) it will only go higher.

There really is no reason to hold off on giving proof of mining and an address, this means that they are delaying the release probably in the hopes of actually solving a block. My bet is that they are mining somewhere(probably a significant amount) less than 2TH and have yet to find a block, so the release of their address now will show 0 BTC and be useless.

If true this would have been a suicidal move when they painted themselves into a corner, and the stock price would instantly drop to a level so low that Satoshi himself would never have thought it could have any use to split a bitcoin into such tiny fractions.

It would be so deadly that I can't believe they won't post an address without *at least* 2 TH/s for min. 2 weeks, hopefully increasing (otherwise it would be suspicious).

Even an empty address will drive the price up in anticipation, though. After a dip from the not-so-bright brigade selling off.

And then at some completely random point, it will solve a block and the price will skyrocket.

So even an empty address is fine at this point.

empty address is NOT fine.
if they have been hashing they should have at least 1 block by now with min of 2TH
if they have 0 blocks all this would mean is that they are not hashing at all or just the most unlucky company in the world
as i've said before with 2th they should have just joined a pool for the time being.
something is off and this is sad. there was great potential here

ok

Why they didn't mine on a pool is beyond me.

don't you get it. it's not about what the price will do in the next 1, 24hr etc it's about if it's ok for them to be LYING and covering shit up. if you think this kind of behavior is ok than by all means keep buying. don't be surprised though if you'll be holding an empty sack or a poor sap you sold your shares to will be. they really need honesty and trust from the community. they have yet to earn it.

I figured out a while ago that they weren't being forthcoming about their problems.  I've factored that in to my decisions for some time now.

stfu, you always say you have bids waiting then when it drops you take the bids away. I'm sure when this thing tanks you'll have claimed to sell all yours at the peak too.
