First of all, I'd separate tokens from actual coins. Then, why did you put IOTA twice? Also, all the 'zero' coins should be added to privacy list, not only ZEC...

I'm trying ..
I can't possibly keep up with +1375  coin/tokens 
GBYTE and IOTA qualified for more than one category

I'm looking for input from the community for
both category designations and the appropriate coin/token

I'll add links to the corresponding Bitcointalk  [ANN]  threads
and also the coin's/projects specific .org web sites ( if any )

Just thought this would make a useful reference as blockchain tech evolves
Maybe at some point the mods will "sticky" this to the top of the Alt Coin discussion page ..

To this I will add decentralized exchanges since I think that category is going to become big in the future and I think you should also add smart contracts platforms since they are very popular, it will be interesting to find out with how many categories we finish.

Good Category of Altcoins but I think you only picked those coins on what you have and some coins should be included too to be able to get to know by some holders as the reference for their coins. Some coin owners including me has no idea what those projects are all about.

You probably would like to classify the coins in "utilities" and "dividends". TAAS and Astronaut are dividend, and Quantstamp is promising token airdrops for holdlers. Including the sector would further refine you clasification.

I'm still mulling how to best classify coins/projects that have an income component ..
That's why I went with the links for MasterNode coins rather than list them all ..
A few years ago numerous POS ( proof of stake ) projects were launched ..
( way too many POS coins to list here )

I'd also like to identify projects ( regardless of category ) that have the following attributes

- a dev team
- a clearly stated development roadmap
- a self funding mechanism to ensure future development can happen
