There have been some good ICOs, some bad and some outright scams. I think 2018 will bring more regulation, which will help to weed out the scams. Regulation has its bad points, but has its good points as well.

ICO will not die in 2018..probably as of now ICO are a very common known of many people using of it or as a bitcoiner. ICO project will really help to many a lot of people. Maybe it's not right that there are a lot of ico that could work without blockchain and their main task is to find funding. But, the ico market is growing and changing every month, it will take a very short time and the rules of the game will change. I hope that for the better.
