I am all for the long term. The long term prospects of high quality projects are very green, so it is only a matter of time, when the market for them will really pick up again. Remember that the total value of all cryptocurrencies and tokens is today only 2-3% of the total value of all fiat currencies, so the trend can only be up! And high quality altcoins will pick big parts of that space that will be captured - not sure that it will be bitcoin at all, when things advance.

I would use this summer lull and directionless market to do my study and research in peace for the future winners, to spot them and buy into them now, when everything is very cheap! One can make a lot of good bargains today…

Seek for the hidden gems with a lot of study, analysis and thorough assessment of projects. You just need to do your research carefully and don't trust ICO listing sites etc. because ratings can be bought. Careful research is very important to avoid scams and other low quality projects - don't trust anyone but your own research!

I have been recently following Stellar that is generally on the rise and the tokens issued on the Stellar platform - now there is a bump like in any cryptocurrency over the past few days, but generally Stellar is on the rise because of the prospective Coinbase listing and other advances. This will also boost tokens issued on the Stellar platform...

My most recent find among alts is AXU, "Argentas Exchange Unit" token issued on the Stellar platform and listed and verified on the Stellarport decentralized exchange, now only at its pre-distribution, or pre-ICO phase. A true hidden diamond, with low profile so far. Experienced people clearly, and cool tech for decentralizing and revolutionizing global banking - their website at argentas.io.

The pre-ICO price is 50% cheaper than the ICO price, a sure winner IMO, and I will certainly get some. They also have an ANN thread, I think here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4431900.0. I dug really deep in their content, and it is really cool stuff Grin But don’t forget your own research!

I rather choose long term because long term give a sure profit if the project was real and having a good progress and also im putting all my funds for a long term investments.

At the moment I do not buy coins for long-term storage. I do daily trading and this brings me more profit than investing.

I prefer long term invest but this year has been terrible for this type of investors, if you did not sell then you are probably down 80-90% in your coins...last year the hodl tactic help many people to get rich, but this year many became poor unfortunately

Right, to get big profits then the long term is better, we must always be sure of crypto's future so that with long-term investment will make us get big profits, and now is the right time to buy because prices immediately skyrocket.

Obviously you have to find your sweet spot, if you are full of excitement while doing trading and you are beating the market constantly it's probably no point to change. But the majority of people don't have the experience/expertise to do that.

But there are some projects that are not sure that holding in the long run will give you income, while the current market is constantly falling, I hold in the long run will be more afraid. But now the sale is also suffering losses

How are you handling your portfolio? How much are risking in % of your portfolio in short term gain vs. Long term gain?
In my opinion, the short term strategy i usually take for the Altcoins i usually buy when the btc fluctuates and then sells when the price is high. The long term strategy i apply to BTC and ETH is because i keep it for long periods of time.

I am holding BTC, ETH & NEO for long term as they have huge pottential to give returns in 5X to 10X in longer run easily. For short term i work on Market trends and buy according and sale at right time to take out my seeded funds. Its better to sale and bring out invested amount on short term investments as there are huge probability of getting losses on short term investment.

I'm holding long term and actually now (because of the market situation) I got absolutely no profits and my losses are around 50%. Today I wish I'd chosen short-term trading...

Based on the current situation of the cryptocurrency market I think long term is better than short term because as of now the market is still unstable so day to day trading is not appropriate for some investors so I think long term is a good strategy.

If you have time, you can do short term trade, but if you dont have much time and you dont know trading much, you can research and find good project for long term investment.

My portfolio is: 40% for long-term coins and 60% for short-term coins, because I don't think most coins are worth holding for a long time!

I would recommend for Long term, unless some one does trading to meet his daily needs or do it on arbitage method, long term gives more insight bout the coins and its potential and perks too if they award with forks or revenue profits.

for now holding a coin is a bad idea in my opinion, because the market for this year will continue to fall. I always do short grilling

Our investment plan should be divided into many short-term and medium-term investment portfolios depending on whether we have specific plans with those plans. I believe that we are quick to make a profit and minimize the risks in investment

Short term trading is only good for people who know technical analysis and can time their trades according to the market and majority sentiment. Long term also requires a bit of TA, but is mostly based on fundamental analysis. So, people with good understanding of cryptocurrencies and their potential, can make a good long term investment decision. So, you have to choose according to your requirements.

Long-term is losing favor, compared with short-term (trade) this year. Each type has its own characteristics. At a time when the market is uncertain about the trend. Short term will give preference to my choice. However, I will not forget, how bitcoin has brought success to the people who trust and care about it. (Long-term)

There are projects that have a good future in the long term prospect and they will be able to make a revolution in the sphere of blockchains. There are many such coins. For me it's dash, lisk, stellar, aelf, cnd, omg and others. In total, I have allocated about 20 such altcoins, which I'm going to keep for at least a year (if there is not any bad news).
There are short-term projects that have positive events in the near future and can make profit on these news. Among such news can be the release of the product, entering exchanges, signing an agreement with a new partner, fork (look at the ETC charts before the fork).

So, I recommend using both strategies.

Altcoin I sell quickly, and all the other coins I hold for a long time.
This gives me a constant profit even in a falling market, I'm sure that everyone is doing so now

Short-term investment is chosen because it has the potential to reward maximum yields a maximum of one year while long-term investments are chosen to utilize compounding, minimize risk, and to realize various financial goals in the long term usually more than a year or even decades. If you ask to select some large investors, it is very difficult to choose, but if you plan to invest regularly in the short term in meeting the latest financial goals, at least one long-term investment is needed to keep the valuation of money consistent over time.
