Hi everyone,

I am pleased to announce Crimecoin - The Coin developed to be Crime and Black Market Resistant.

The aim of this project is to address the current major issue with Crypto-Currencies for their increasing use for illegal activities. You might now be thinking how would this work and is the name of this coin counter productive towards the projects aim but sometimes the more simple the solution, the higher the chances of it working.

This is just my opinion but I do not believe that many users would actually use a dedicated "Anon" Crypto-Currency as that is going to be the first in a list of digital currencies global authorities will be monitoring, just like what has been happening with the Tor network.

What makes things even more interesting is that the Tor network is being indirectly "promoted" by many third parties as a secure and anonymous "darknet" which I believe is not the case but in fact the Tor network is monitored actively by governments probably using the Terrorist Act to get around any red tape.

I wonder why the .i2p network hardly gains any official publicly, even though it is very effective at keeping your anonymity providing you configure everything correctly and use a secure browsing policy; I imagine is is partly down to the fact that .i2p does have a steeper learning curve than Tor which is available nicely packaged with Firefox (Where are the Action Lawsuits?) but is also given a bad reputation for a long list of issues even though many of these people are heavy .i2p users and as I have used .i2p many times to see how the project is progressing, I can say that it is although not perfect (Nothing is) it is far from deserving the reputation is has in certain community groups.

With the above in mind is seems that with Reverse Psychology and a small amount of targeted marketing, a Crypto-Currency can be less likely to be used for illegal activities but can also use a basic Wallet Client with no extra "Anonymous" functionality but only some custom in client icons that any user trying to use it for illegal activities would not want anyone else to see.

No "Panic" boss button to be found here :-)

Yeah the Beretta 92FS very nice pistol (I fired it when in the Army) used a lot by Riggs in Lethal Weapon.

The more Crimecoin's you have then I guess the closer you get to the likes of Scarface maybe? :-)

The name is a little risky lol

I think what is happening now is some very big miners are on the scene, maybe trying a 51% or something so nobody else can get a block, I have had a few though.

This chain will not be restarted though and I will be adding checkpoints but this is a coin to learn from to make my main one in the future better.

IRC for Crimecoin #Crimecoin on Freenode

Website to follow at crimecoin.org

Might as well support the test coin as people are mining it.

Your guide was great as I knew nothing about coding but I am learning so much everyday. As this is a test coin, I left a lot in, and some mistakes, like cmc instead of CMC. But hats off to you mate.

My main here though it to learn my mistakes and great a much better, different coin, maybe a sister coin to BBQcoin or something. I don't know yet, I have so much written down, plan after plan.

Yeah that was one of the last things I did. I love that pistol, I fired it in Las Vegas and when in the Army. The only thing I think I might has messed up a little is the block details. I put 25 per block, 5 min block but only 288 block a day.

So how will that effect things? Will the diff just go through the roof?

If you didn't change the nRetarget, its max diff change of 4x over each interval, looking the explorer it looks like every 284 blocks based on your target time. That's pretty close to your 288 block target, not bad. Diff is going up in 4x chunks, you'll find if people drop off about .5 something it should come back down, though with the 4x jumps its easy to get it stuck at 1.xx, quite a few coins have learned that the hardway (mine included)!

Pretty basic block explorer, but a very good start for such a new coin.

what was the starting diff on release?

what's the hash on this right now? are you going to destroy this coin after some time and start it again? is it just a test or will you leave this coin to run it's course and start a new coin?

I will leave this coin to carry on.

The diff started rock bottom the same as most coins but with the 5 min blocks and 288 (284) max blocks then the difficulty rises quickly meaning that even I could not premine a massive amount of coins. Even for a test coin, this is quiet a fair one.

The lessons I learn from this one will help with the next one that I release sometime in the future.

I will be updating the Crimecoin client, I will also add some checkpoints too. That's only fair for the users that are mining this coin, test or not.

And I will put together a simple website for the coin.

Just that I'd mention that CaptChadd was talking about this earlier today on IRC, about an hour before he posted here.  He was looking for a beta tester and I think I was the first (or second, counting CaptChadd.)

I had no problem getting this up and running.  Grats on your experiment.  Now let's all get this thing to Cryptsy. Wink

A Personal Quote on BTT from 2011:
"I'd be willing to make a moderate "investment" if the value of the BTC went below $2.00.  Otherwise I'll just have to live with my 5 BTC and be happy. :/"  ...sigh.  If only I knew.

I just turned the client on this morning and got 2 connections so far.

I think we are going to need more stable node, as this was supposed to be just a test coin, I have just one VPS and a client running on that acting as a node. Not sure if that's the best way to do it or not.

If people on here want me to stay working on this coin then I will and will add stable nodes, checkpoints etc into the next client update.

Took the test part out.

I will update the client and change the node to the current one. As it began just a test, my first VPS was terrible and kept going down, so I need to update it with the new one. Can anyone else help with a few nodes to add to the conf?

A brand new client does take a while to get connections, this will stop once I make the changes for Crimecoin V 1.1 and will change the coins to CRC aswell.

Just wondered if someone could help?

On line 1000 on net.cpp I added a VPS IP address on there with a client running. That VPS has gone now.

What the best thing to direct this to? A dedicated VPS? A website host?

This is the reason why I think new users are not getting that first connection.

You can point it to altcha.in, that client will be running for the forseeable future for the block explorer. I believe many coins connect to IRC servers and get peer addresses that way. I think though that some of my nodes that run lots of (~50) coin daemons get rejected from making that many connections to an IRC server.

It is like the older design.

As this was supposed to be a test coin, just a coin from me to learn from, I forked it from the Foocoin Github. So a Litecoin clone in essence, oldschool. And using a wonderful guide started working on it.

The guide is not 100% so I had to do more research and learn how to change other stuff myself. I compiled the whole thing under Windows 7, its tricker but I enjoyed it.

But this release has proven useful as I can see changes that need to be made with the difficulty adjustments, the seed nodes and the abbreviated name including others.

I am going to make Version 1.1 a more polished and stable with a sustainable difficulty adjustment.

Anyone that wants to help, then get on board the Crime train.

The seed node in the conf file should be working properly now, getting you that first connection.

Crimecoin Version 1.1 should be finished by the end of the weekend at the latest.

That could be a check point problem as I did add one at block 100. I will check now for you.

Doing a super fast edit and compile so it is working before I get some sleep time.

Checkpoints should be fixed.

If not I will have to remove them in the morning and sort them out when not so tired.

CaptChadd,

Will try and add this to my servers running BBQCoin as well. 198.211.110.36 and 192.241.132.112. OR if you'd prefer, point the client at concord.lksmith.me and sonata.lksmith.me. That way should my IPs somehow change, clients can still connect to them.

Veddy

EDIT: Need a daemon version (no-GUI) to run it. My servers are headless linux servers so I can't put Qt on them without a hassle for me.

You've read my forum signature. That's enough social interaction for one day.

I will be looking into creating a Linux client and a mac one to for Crimecoin this weekend.

Need to try and get it on a pool too. 1000 CRM bounty for first one to take it on.

Once you get the linux client up, i'll try to modify the pushpool/simplecoin solution to work for a CRM Pool.

When you run the client for the first time you have to wait a little while for it to get the seed node connection and then start connecting to peers.

It does not connect instantly.

With more seed node it might do and also so will more people with clients running.

I have two connections right now.

What does your conf file look like?

Do you have port 22701 open?

You should be getting a connection to the seednode, how long have you had the client open for?

Remove the addnode from there as that is hardcoded into the client now and see if that helps.

Its strange as other people are connecting, I have three peers on my client at the moment.

I also have rpcallow=*.*.*.* in mine too, which is not the best practice but good to try to see if you get a connection that way.

Do you have any experience with PHP foreach loops? I'm encountering an error in a certain section of the stats.php include.

Code:

function currentworkers() {
                $currentworkers = 0;
                if (!($currentworkers = getCache("pool_workers"))) {
                        $uwa = $this->workerhashrates();
                        foreach ($uwa as $key => $value) {
                                if ($value > 0)
                                        $currentworkers += 1;                  $
                        }
                        setCache("pool_workers", $currentworkers, 1800);
                }
                return $currentworkers;
        }

Code:

 function workerhashrates() {
                global $read_only_db;
                $uwa = Array();
                if (!($uwa = getCache("worker_hashrates"))) {
                        $sql ="SELECT IFNULL(count(s.id),0) AS hashrate, p.user$
                                  "shares s ON p.username = s.username ".
                                  "WHERE s.time > DATE_SUB(now(), INTERVAL 10 M$
                                  "GROUP BY username ";
                        $result = $read_only_db->query($sql);
                        while ($resultObj = $result->fetch()) {                $
                                $uwa[$resultObj[1]] = round((($resultObj[0]*429$
                        }
                        if (count($uwa) > 0)
                                setCache("worker_hashrates", $uwa, 600);       $
                }

I just made a couple of changes with the vps. I cannot see any wrong with the client at all. My debug files don't have that error in or on the vps debug file.

I think I might be that the VPS is not fast enough to handle all the clients trying to download the chain? I might have to add some more nodes.

For some reason the block explorer has stopped adding blocks. Could this mean it has gone down or are we looking at a fork of somekind?

People still running the old client vs the new one?

Pool is UP! Eleuthria recommended me to MMCFE-NG and it's working like a boss!

Register at mc.lksmith.me (NOTE: This pool location is temporary as it's my home network. I am waiting on CaptChadd to release the headless version of the client before moving it to my VPS server. No data will be lost from the current location.)
Once you have a worker ready, point it at mc.lksmith.me port 9988.

Veddy

EDIT: Currently due to a slight glitch, users cannot see other users hashrates or share contributions. Currently looking into it.
EDIT EDIT: All Issues are now resolved! Cheesy

Nvm. Although your "hardcode" of the VPS IP isn't working. Recommend everyone re-add that line to their confs.

EDIT: I sincerely apologize for the downtime caused by this hiccup guys. As the network grows, it'll rectify itself. Apologies again.

Are 100% sure that problem is VPS not wallet itself? Maybe downloadable compiled version is different from the one that is in source download, or different from the one that is on your VPS, maybe problem is windows version as I assume on VPS you are running linux version

No, I am running the Windows QT on the VPS. I am still new to the coin creation thing, hence why this started out as a test coin but have become a coin like the rest.

Is it better to have a Linux headless client running on the VPS then?

These are real strange sync problems. I am going to fork out some cash and get a better VPS. I will do that today.

As you guys are mining this coin, which means a lot to me, the least I can do it get it working properly for you.

Very much so.

On another note, I had to delete the workers from the pool to try and resolve an issue. Please re-create your workers. I will be paying out manually to those who have Payout addresses assigned to them tomorrow at 1PM GMT for the trouble.

You should update "Getting started" page, I don't think these are right connection details for your pool : "http://pool.grewe.ca:8337"

You're absolutely right. After I completely sort this current issue, I'll do that.

On that note, I figured out the issue. The old wallet received a transaction that was not a generation and it screwed up MMCFE-NG. Have since made a new wallet specifically for the pool. Payouts will still happen tomorrow at 1PM GMT (or so, depends on if i'm able to get my ass out of bed XD) from the old wallet. During the time of submitting payouts, i will suspend the pool accepting shares so as to not have it throw a hissy fit at me.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

I have just bought out of my own money a Dedicated VPS with high ram, cpu cores and unlimited bandwidth.

As soon as I get the login details I will post the extra seednode to add to your conf file.

Thanks.

What's funny is that the pool is going to have most of the global hashing power, even I am on the pool.

Yeah I know that but I wanted to test out your great pool that you spent time on.

Just set up my other rig so should be able to get upto 2.2MH soon today. Maybe solo with that.

Not sure what to do with Crimecoin yet, as it was only a test coin but now it seems to be a little more.

Where do you see it going? The way of Liquidcoin ? lol

Or somehow getting some outside press coverage that there is a cryptocoin out now with Crime in the name?

Lol. Well it's quite surprising to me to see my machine handle it so well (it's on a router-router WDS (wireless) link). But hey! I'm happy that it works.

I would look at it this way ... this was testcoin right, so you were learning to create some real coin ... the thing is - people like this one :-) so stick with it, whatever you planned to do with that future real coin, do it with this one and you will be happy and people will be happy. There is no reason to create new one if you already got one. Especially knowing how hard it is to get people like new coins, here you have free pass, so just stick with it.

First of all you need to sort out all problems with nodes/sync/wallet and then start working towards getting usual services, places where to spend coin and of course towards listing on exchanges.

I have been giving Crimecoin and its purpose a lot of thought and I do have an idea that if it did work I would imagine could give the Crypto Community an even better image.

I was thinking that Crimecoin is actually a coin designed to help those and the family's effected by Crime, maybe using the Just Giving website as a central way to distribute the money.

I could get that up and running, the coin would need to go on an exchange so it can be traded into Bitcoins and then, for me at least PayPal and then the chosen charity.

I am not expecting loads of people to jump at this one but imagine if almost everyone in this community gave just 0.01% of the trade profit from CRM to BTC to the charity we could make a massive impact.

Its just another way of giving mining and a coin a purpose.

What do you all think?

You probably need to talk with some experienced people (I am not the one). As far as I see from my wallet debug file, your VPS node at block 147 (may not be completely right) is giving out some wrong/damaged information(ERROR: AcceptBlock() : incorrect proof of work), and gets disconnected because of that (Disconnected 212.48.67.126:22701 for misbehavior (score=100))

I am not developer of coins, so no idea what that means or how to fix that.

EDIT: Found workaround

1. clean your appdata directory
2. install old wallet (the one 2-3 days before)
3. run it and wait for it to sync and go past block 147
4. close it down
5. install new wallet
6. run it, and it continues syncing without any problems

Of course since very beginning add official node to your conf file, otherwise you will wait for years to start syncing

Hmm I will look into that, block 147, when I put the updated version of the client on there, it was a copy of mine. So the mistake might have been to not let to download the whole block chain again possible?

Probably, looks like new wallet can't download from beginning, it doesn't like 147th block. But for some reason old wallet is fine with that block and downloads without saying anything.

There is 100% a syncing problem, I got a new rig today so put a fresh Crimecoin client on it and it is just sitting there with one connection and saying 1500 blocks remaining, which we all know is wrong. I realy need this second dedicated VPS to email me the details its going to cost me £60 a month to run but its worth it. I don't think the little VPS I have as a seed node is powerful enough to do what it needs too.

Due to a problem with block 144 in the chain, I have uploaded my upto date blockchain as from 05/08.13 00:10 GMT. This will mean you don't have to wait for ages to sync and also skip the problem block.

Simple copy the contents of the folder into your appdata/crimecoin folder, don't worry your wallet.dat will not be touched, restart the client and you should start syncing again.

Here is the blockchain link : https://www.dropbox.com/s/d0veyw7p0ry6g1g/Crimecoin%20V1.1%20Blockchain.zip

CaptChadd, my seednodes for bqc are only 512mb Linux headless servers each with only one core. I think it has to do with the os and client itself.

UNRELATED EDIT: Auto payouts for the pool have now been given a new maximum threshold of 5000 CRM. 250 is kinda tiny if you ask me but I should've fixed that before opening the pool up. Feel free to adjust you AP thresholds. Cheesy

Alrighty guys! I've decided to make another VM for the payout of yesterday's earnings considering the screwup i made with the wallet.dat file. This way, I can issue payouts without bringing down the pool to change out the wallet + fuck with the crontab i have on the pool server. Pool is effectively running between a guest linux OS and my win7 host os. Win7 runs the qt-client and the guest OS runs the pushpoold/mmcfe-ng installation. During the download process, you might experience some rejects due to me using dreamspark's DL manager to get an ISO that is legal.

Thank you for understanding!

Veddy

EDIT: CaptChadd, fix your highlights and your nick on IRC. Everyone else, Should you need support with the pool, either pm me here or join #Crimecoin on irc.freenode.net and poke me there.
ADDITIONAL EDIT: Payouts have been made to apbyte, reecelander and gxp. These three were the ones affected by yesterday's glitch in the system. An additional payout was made out of my pocket to CaptChadd to compensate him for his help with the beta test of the pushpool daemon.

Have you tried to download the blockchain that CaptChadd provided? If no, then there's your problem. The new wallet has an issue with a certain block. CaptChadd is trying to isolate the issue but until then, you'll need to download the blockchain and add certain addnode=ip lines to your config.

Resolved. Getting Started page is now updated in it's template.

I am working on version 1.2 of Crimecoin.

I have had an email back from Cryptsy saying that they are researching this coin for their list.

I am taking that as good news.

Thanks guys for all the hard work you've put into this coin.  You've managed to resolve all the issues that have cropped up very quickly, and kept us informed of updates and changes.  I will be certainly be sticking with this coin for a while.

Thanks guys for all the hard work you've put into this coin.  You've managed to resolve all the issues that have cropped up very quickly, and kept us informed of updates and changes.  I will be certainly be sticking with this coin for a while.

Thank-you  Smiley

Thank you for the kinds words and for also supporting this coin. Without users like yourself, no Cryptocoin would even get off the ground.

Hah! Looks like some script kiddy tried to spam register. Will be setting up a SMTP relay to make it so emails will work from the pool and then will require registration verification. Btw, All user entries that started with "hax" followed by a random number string have been deleted from the UserDB. Until I get registration Verification to work, Registrations will have to be manually done with an initial password supplied by me via PM on this forum or on IRC. I do apologize for the inconvenience, however I don't take kindly to people trying to flood my database.

EDIT: PM me on here or on IRC with an Email to register your account under and i'll send you an invitation to join. This will prevent the spam registrations but still allow people to join. Also, to those already on the pool, you are also allowed to invite users to the pool. Cheesy Also, Registration verification is now turned on. Make sure your email is updated if it's not your actual email in the DB.

I am looking to update the current Logo and splash screen for Crimecoin.

Any suggestions from the community would be more than welcome.

It will be added to version 1.2 of the client which I am working on at the moment, which more checkpoints.

That logo is perfect. Is it ok to use it for the Official logo now of Crimecoin? It will be added to the next client and the top of the OP of this thread? You will be credited by name for it.

Can you post your Crimecoin address, I will send you some for the excellent job.

Thanks Capt, glad you like it. Yeah sure you can use it, tried to put two pistols on the coin aswell but it looked a bit too 'busy'. I'll be mining my own crimecoin soon as I get my new rig set up.

Actually, It's because a script kiddie decided to flood my userdb with meaningless accounts. Simpleflow, CaptChadd can invite you to the pool, as can I or any other current user on the pool. But once I feel comfortable putting registrations as open again, they will be opened up. Until then, PM me or CaptChadd with your email for an invite to the pool.

Yes, looking good and unique.   I don't know if it's possible but is there any way to make it play a sound for incoming transactions?

The pools down but I think Veddy's still doing his GMT-5 hw update.

Good work guys and if there's anything I can do to help just ask.

my apologies. The "HW update" was me playing tech support with my desktop which is also the pool server. Kinda hard to plug in/remove a SATA HDD while the computer is running. Anyways, Pool should be back up and time corrected so yeah. (did a save machine state instead of just sending an ACPI shutdown signal).

Tech support for family somehow getting the Internet Security Pro 2013 virus is a bitch. I should've just left my computer up and researched it first. Turns out everything I needed to do to that laptop had to be done ON THAT LAPTOP! >.<

Well guys,

It's time for me to get to bed. If any issues arise while i'm sleeping, throw me a PM and I'll read them as soon as I get up.

Here I come, Snoozyland.

Veddy

EDIT: Fuck sleeping. Apparently, I can't sleep now >.< ...

Anyways, I received this question as part of a request for an invitation: "May I ask you why you selected this invitation method?"

Answer is this (also replied directly to the person but decided to post it here for future reference): A certain script kiddie who i have already filed a complaint against with the ISP that provides the assailant IP address decided it would be fun to spam register with fake emails which flooded my userDB for the pool. I shut off open registration as a result of that script kiddie's actions. At some point, I may re-open the registration page without requiring an invitation to join, but not at present.

This charity has been setup in case this coin does get on any exchanges, two of which have been contacted.

I am hoping it will work out eventually that a very small percentage of all Crimecoin trades with the exchanges goes to this charity.

This is my eventual aim.

It might be?
Try bumping it a few times (once a day), and rewriting the first post since the formating is very wrong. Compare other coins threads and do what they did, should help a bit at least.

The original post has been updated to make it laid out better and more in line with the other coins.

We have now surpassed the 100,000 coins margin, meaning that that the very small pre mine of 30,000 which already given out at the start is gone.

This is truly an honest and free coin, with only the current miners getting their nice stockpiles.

You don't want to miss out while the difficulty is still low.

Hi There,

I dont seem to be able to get any connections at all. Im using version 1.2, I downloaded the fresh blockchain from an hour ago and i have added the 3 node addresses i can find to the conf file but i still get 0 connections.

Im about to try setting it up on a rig i have in another location but im wondering if i have missed something important (I did just read the 9 pages of posts so its possible :-) )

All the best

*Edit*
In fact i cant actually test it on my other rig, for some reason its decided to stop responding to Teamviewer although its still hashing away >.< Will have to test when i get round there in a couple of hours.

Please click this link-> https://mcxnow.com/?r=Stuartnorth       (The link is a referral link, it costs you nothing, but provides a little bonus for me if you click through to the site. Please help feed my baby. Thanks :-) )

Are you fully synced? There is a known problem with block 144, I do recommend that you download the block chain that I added in the OP. Also if you start the client and get no connections, or it does not look like it is syncing, then quiet the client and restart it straight away, this should kick start the download.

This coin was only meant to be a test coin, so I have been adding things as I go along, this includes the VPS seed nodes etc.

Looking to give Crimecoin another logo.

This time it needs to have charity in mind for the theme. The coin's purpose is as well as making users profit is also donating an extremely small percentage of every trade to charity.

The charity right now is for the Victims of Crime.

I just checked and someone has actually straight up donated using the Crimecoin website, I would like to thank them, as I know from the name, they are on this forum.

I guess its only fair that I donate too.

BTW 500 Crimecoin bounty for the Logo that gets chosen to be updated charity themed one.

As a heads up, whatever the outcome of this poll, that will be happening to Crimecoin.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=274917.0

I am hoping that it is either going to be carry on as we are or just a simple name change, that way everyone keeps their coins, just under a new more "politically correct" coin.

Followed by a push on to one of the exchanges, if the support for this coin is there.

How about now, when you restart your client, is it syncing and working again?

The main problem the network is suffering from at the moment is lack of miners, which when they drop off, the global hashrate do not match up to the current difficulty.

I have just solo'd one of my rigs at the coin and it then synced and I found two blocks.

Apologies to any users who registered on the pool and couldn't login due to not getting an email. I have since unlocked the accounts and will be looking into why the Emails weren't sent.

I can't get the pool to work for me.  Is anyone else mining?  I'll admit, it could be my computer acting up, but I don't think it is.

A Personal Quote on BTT from 2011:

Pools working fine at the moment.  Give it another go.

With regards to the pool, I ran into problems at first but its because there is a mistake on the getting started page, It lists the port as 9088 when in fact in the first post of this thread it lists it as 9988 - I tried both and failed on 9088 but connected on 9988.

make sure you have the correct one matey the winning port number is

9988

:-) hope it helps

I'm behind a proxy at the moment, so I can't double-check if this works or not.  However, I was using the port on the Getting Started page.  I'm sure that was the issue.

I am very impressed and grateful that users are still mining this coin despite the fact it started as a test coin and has a terrible name.

Imagine if this coin gets added to an exchange in like 6 months and at this low difficulty level, so many coins for everyone to have and hoard.  Grin

As per the community poll below, that closed few days ago:

Yes - Kill The Chain Now    - 7 (25.9%)
Just change the name to something else    - 8 (29.6%)
No- Leave it alone to continue    - 4 (14.8%)
Any publicity is good publicity, keep it going.    - 1 (3.7%)
It is supposed to help victims of crime, the name fits.    - 0 (0%)
I don't care.    - 7 (25.9%)

I will be releasing Crimecoin Version 1.3

For this I once again turn to the community, as I think at this moment, this is a community coin and not a developer controlled one, at least not directly.

It would be great if we would start up a list of names that might suit this coin and maybe some Icon suggestions too? Chosen Icon's will be paid a small bounty.

My first name suggestion would be Communitycoin. (CMC) (CTC) (CYC) ??

How about everyone else?

I will give it a few days and then make the changes and release the coin under the new name and logo, close this [ANN] thread and open a new one, for a fresh start.

All currently mined coins will be valid, they will just be called something else.

Thanks.

I have taken some advice and Crimecoin is now going to be called CommunityCoin.

I chose the name as it is a coin for the Crypto Community but also to help communities in general. Keeps the coin more or less on theme.

The website will be http://www.communitycoin.org and should be up and running in a couple of days.

A new client release will be out in around the same time scale and a seperate [ANN] will be started and then this thread locked.

So with the name sorted, is anyone will be give an Icon a go for this?

I will be a bounty in Communitycoin's (Crimecoin) for it.

Thanks.

Thank you for the comment. I am going to look into many ways in which this coin can help the community, both with services and more.

The voting has been completed and I have done the name change that the community asked for.

This Crimecoin thread will be closed and Communitycoin will take its place.

Your old coins are safe, they are now just going to be called something else, please go to this thread for links and instructions.

The name change from Crimecoin to Communitycoin did not work as intended so I am attempting to bring the original Crimecoin back online, with the original blockchain still unchanged and intact and still using the Crimecoin V 1.2 client.

I will be updating the website http://www.crimecoin.org website to have a Windows V1.2 download link, a link to the Github source code etc.

This coin started as a Scrypt coin and will stay as one.

Might be a good time for previous Crimecoin miners to dust off any old CRM wallets they have.

Many thanks.

Hi there,

Yes, I am in the process of compiling a Linux version to put onto my new VPS.

This VPS is a downsized one, as I only have to host a few coins on there now and maybe one service.

Once it is up and running, I will post the addnode on here and to you.

Glad to see that you are still interested, even more so with other coins called Potcoin and Dopecoin around now.

Cheers

The original blockchain as it was back in 2013 that I released is back from the dead.

All links for the client and source code should work.

Just need some nodes now.

Thanks

I am going to have to purchase a new VPS node and add this coin and a few others.

Will post the addnode when I have it up and running.
