Guys, instead of devoting so much hardware resources why not mine Encocoin XNK ahead of it's exchange listing. It's a pos and easy to mine on the QT. With 50XNK you're good to go without hassles. Check out the ANN here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5028776.msg45792964#msg45792964

Lots of bonuses ongoing.

Hi all!
little update concerning this topic... I actually reveived some Neunammnium after linking my WCG account to Icesword.jp. So it does work, and it's NOT a scam Wink

cheers

I just registered today... no risk involved with that, no "pain in the a" because I'm already computing for WCG Smiley
As usual with that kind of project, you need to wait for 2 or 3 days before receiving anything... so I'll check in 3 days if I got any new "reward" on my WAVES wallet!
will keep you informed

Great thread!  I too dabble in mining some CPU coins, fun stuff, one of my old favorites is Aeon.  I started mining it a few years back.  Definitely a coin that's went up in value with time.  I'm glad to see that there are so many new coins that are CPU mining only.

Seems like this thread has filled up with a lot of spam posts.  Any general consensus on Nimiq vs Biblepay?  I used to mine BBP back in the day, and I'm glad to read its still going strong.  It just got way too confusing for me.

Is CPU mining still viable?

If you consider your home CPU (4 core) it is not viable.
If you  consider a $5-600 CPU or a whole datacenter full of Xeons or Epycs
and electricity paid by a company you work for, then it is pretty viable Wink

Hi! "distribute credit chain" ? You can link your Boinc account to that? I've found nothing about it, would you mind giving us a hint?))))

Thanks))

Well, I fell for the above posts and downloaded BBP, signed up to Rosetta / bionc, and same old crap....

have used .conf from purepool.org
Example:

                addnode=node.biblepay.org
                gen=1
                genproclimit=1

                pool=https://pool.purepool.org
                workerid=yQwwRT4NtwBw442eyz37NYTYzyfwxiHLk1

...and it fails cpid something error, cos you cant just use any address from your wallet, although it says you , you have to register with Rosetta, get a cpid, and then when u restart you wallet and go to receiving addresses you will see a "Rosetta" address...ok, so now using that one, so pool worker sdtats have no error, but guess what, when I go to getmininginfo in wallet, I have no hashps, even thou I have 4 cores dedicated to it.
Then it gets worse cos when I go to BUIONC manager, the rosetta project is suspended, cos i am using my PC, of course i am using my PC - duh, no matter what seetting i change i cannot get it to run, unless i close my BBP wallet....then it runs, oh, until i start surfing on a new page, and then it suspends again....

https://ibb.co/inkX1e

Now i remember why i gave up on this ridiculous project...shame of it is, BIONC was the original software for trying to find a cure for cancer, but after all these years if this is the best distributed computing manager they can come up with, i feel so sorry for anyone holding out for some progress.....it's like the dark ages.

So, to the guy who has this successfully working, and is managing to mine 3 other coins simultaneously, well i take my hat off to you...i have no idea how you are doing it, but you sir as a genius.
Would love you to write a dummies guide please.

I have to confess that it was a real struggle, and errors/mistakes...
The discord groupe and bbp bitcointalk discussion were of great help, anyway.
They are well aware of the "how the hell to get involved in that mess?" issue, so they're very patient with newbies.
Don't hesitate to ask them (you may have faster response in the forum's post, though)

Good luck with that, it's really worth it and you feel like you're doing something USEFUL!

I updated my wallet but the only option available is rosetta @home.  How do I change it to world community grid?
