what i learned so far in crypto is that basically everything is a risk. holding btc is definitely a risk
I do believe that holding bitcoin is also have a big risk, and for me holding all coins is also a risk, but thats the reality we should take the risk, and eventhough that holding is a risk it will be very great if we will hold our coins because it has a great chance that the value of our coin is we will pump.

Yes, all investments are definitely risky, the same as holding bitcoin, if your prediction is right to hold bitcoin will definitely benefit, if your prediction is wrong it will get a loss.

I do agree with you all investment indeed is risky. But I think holding is less riskier than trading, holding is very good for a long term investment. Although trading gives you high profit it is way riskier than holding.

As indicated by predictions bitcoin should have achieved 15k$ by end of 2017 and fall in first week of jan 2018

In any case, shockingly its effectively reached 17k$ in 2017.

Should I purchase or hold my btc?I don't plan to sell at any point in the near future.

The predictions were true but the predictions and your holding thing are not related at all. Holding always involves some risk and no matter what you or how big analyst says that bitcoin will reach to the moon, you still have to take the precautionary steps before you can invest into it. The risk is there because it is decentarslikd thing and can be manipulated with any kind of method applicable to do so. Bitcoin is moving with great speed but with that speed comes the danger of that accident where it could suddenly decide down if majority of the whales started to sell their BTC's. So for that kind of risks you have to be always ready and make the choice.

For me BTC holding is passion because I have experienced great profits from it and I have complete faith in it.

every speculation has various risks. so I guess you have to be prepared with what will happen. in essence, the benefits you will get are worth the risk you can receive. so what you will do, either withholding or selling it is always at risk

With all investments there is an element of risk. Buy in dips and hodl if you are in no rush to sell. It is probably a good idea to have a plan in place for if you were needing to sell.

Oversight on regulations a bit high nowadays but this will weigh on prices in the short term, but should be positive in the longer term.

every investment is risky, do not put all eggs in one basket

I couldn't agree more. I think risk is a fundamental aspect that everybody
should take into consideration with investments. As coins and their market
values fluctuate over time, one should cleverly decide on when to hold and
sell. Timing is everything and a little bit of luck is helpful. There are always
smart predictions and speculations on the conditions of coins on circulation.
But that entirely rest upon you, after all it's your money.

In my opinion, it's too late to buy bitcoin. He has already played the maximum. There are many other coins, quite promising to invest in them.
No it is not like this because bitcoin has a lot of lovers and will be high always. For bitcoin payment and buying no time is late because it can grow anytime and will make profit. It is good to use bitcoin as saving and investing money. No currency is better than bitcoin today and no profit is higher than bitcoin. It is sure that bitcoin will buy you a lot of things and will make profit for you but surely you will have to work hard for it.

Investing in bitcoin is a risk, as the value can crash tomorrow.
I'm holding too so far, I believe in what bitcoin represents, so I'm taking the risk. Don't invest more than what you can afford to lose however, but if you can, you should buy more.
Also have a look in other cryptocurrencies.

Great Principle, yeah i strongly agree. Investment is risky so don't put all your money if you can afford. Don't risk everything it is safe that you save for your own. the rate can fluctuate every single hour and day, but every people here are holding too far as they believe that the value are getting high.

In your case, if holding Bitcoin at this time is absolutely safe since the risk with Bitcoin is very low. But profit from holding Bitcoin will be long-term rather than just short-term earnings such as altcoin and ICO. So if you want to make long-term profit, Bitcoin will be the safest. Bitcoin is the oldest crypto as well as the highest value in the cryptocurrency market.

Depends really.
As risky as it is, its always easier and safer to just hold rather than trade it.
Profit could potentially go crazy, if you trade for alts tho.
Im personally trying to keep at least a 30-40% of my portfolio in Btc.

that's the fun of crypto oe BTC trading to be specific. Arket price fluctuates frequently ver hours, seconds overnight and many more. But one thing i have noticed is that no matter the fluctuations a good coin of which BTC is (a very good coin) will surely have a rise in price so purchase some and wait for some days to come, because the price wil eventually rise

Hold bitcoins in the long run since you don't intend to sell it anytime soon. If you have additional source of income that give you disposable income, you can continue adding to the value of bitcoins you little by little.

it's your point of view... they are different types of investor. holder and trader... if you believe in blockchain technology and BTC project, you don't have to concern about prices changes, you must have stomach to face the low prices and waiting to increase again.

Holding bitcoin is really a risk since the value of bitcoin is volatile and right now we notice that the value of it keeps on falling but all you need to do is to be patient in holding your bitcoin because I am sure that the value of it will rise again in a couple of months so just keep holding and dont do rush selling so that you wont regret.

holding not will be a risk, bitcoin prices continue to surprise, but the end of this bitcoin prices back again like the price at the end of 2017. if you continue to hold your bitcoin, maybe you will always get a profit
