About holding, essentially I think it depends on the coins that we hold, if the coins is really worthy to be hold.. it will not be at risky, and of course we've to adjusting it with the time period (long term/short term) in holding that's coins.
One thing, a holder should not be afraid with a risk, if we're afraid with a risk, we're not worth to be a holder.

You just ignore the collapse because your plan is long term investment. But if you do not want to see that your bitcoins are falling you can cut your losses and buy bitcoins with the most dip downsizing. By the way, you can increase your bitcoins and of course the more you can earn.

If you're not a good trader a long term investment is required. Every investment has a risk but holding your btc wisely will not be a risk,  I think it is the safest and best way to do with your bitcoin. if you hold your btc you must wait the time that the value of btc rise up so you can have a big payday.

As indicated by predictions bitcoin should have achieved 15k$ by end of 2017 and fall in first week of jan 2018

In any case, shockingly its effectively reached 17k$ in 2017.

Should I purchase or hold my btc?I don't plan to sell at any point in the near future.
No can even predict what can happen with bitcoin for the next few months. We all know that bitcoin's value only depends on the market and its investors. Holding a bitcoin can both be a risk and at the same a possible profit. But as an investor, the declining price is the best opportunity to buy more bitcoins and invest on it and hope for bitcoin to increase again after a few more months.

Well, it is risky but holding is one of the most profitable if you hold in a long term. For me I will still holding bitcoin even many people saying that bitcoin becomes $1,800 this year. If bitcoin fall this year, I can wait until next year or so. Hold your bitcoin and we can't predict the prices of bitcoin.

For me hodling is one key factor to get rich. if you're not a good trader a long term investment is required, but if you love the risk then try to maximize profits everyday to get into trading. but i tell you my friend day trading is very risky, if you will look at the chart of bitcoin it's very unpredcitable so hold is possible.
True traders are able to store bitcoin for a long time and do not panic because it sees the current price movement of bitcoin that is soaring down its price. believe in bitcoin growth in the future by saving it for a long time will not lose its value but we will get a bigger profit.

of course its a risk.
Don't forget it is an investment and like every other investment you have the risks.
Make sure you understand what you are doing and most important do not put money that you can't afford losing.

Yes there is some risk in holding your bitcoin. Just like in any kind of investment, there is a risk. The reality is that it will always be there. What you just have to do is to do a calculated risk. You have to weigh the consequences, the pros and cons. And like they always say, invest only what you can afford to lose. If you make smart decisions by analyzing every step you will make in your investment, it will be worth it in the end. If you are lucky and clever enough, you can really earn a lot.

By this time you should or as an advice you could buy bitcoin because the price of is definitely affordable, and hold it as it regains again its value it reached last 2017. As another profit you could sell it, well, it depends upon you but some others sell it for another profit and buy again when the value drops down.

I think holding is not really risky if we really have a big patience, the only thing that we really need to mainten if we are a holder is to have or maybe we should extend our patience so that we can be more profitable, because if we have patience we can really wait for the exact price to make a huge sell to gain more profit. While if we dont have  patience of waiting i believe that we all end up to nothing or maybe to loss an amount because the problem of the person who lack on patience is that they are prone  in panic selling act and they only get nothing with thier investment.

Holding bitcoin is risky? Well I guess every actions or dealings are subject for a risk. Risk is already part of one's life and its up to anybody to make a decisions. However, it is necessary to make an analysis of every events or situation and weight it cons and pros before to come up in any decision.

yes I think everything we do must have cause and consequence .. then from that we must be ready to bear what happens with our choice and never regretted, because it has become our choice since the beginning ....

holding also have a big and high risk but you have to play with it . you need to  to have a strong feeling when to sell when to buy and when to hold , always read news , updates or anything about the crypto that you are holding atleast you have some hint or some advice when to sell but always rely on your feelings , on your mind , you can also ask the crypto veteran that knows what to do during the period of holding so you will see and know and learn if you can have a profit  . Just take a bit care because we don't know the coins you are holding might dump .

It can be risky knowing that the value of bitcoin is volatile so there will always be a possibility that the value will rise or fall which will surely affect your holding. You should be smart on holding so that you may end up gaining benefits from it. Many people end up regretting after holding for too long that's why you should always be aware with the price and your target.

2017 all time for BTC was almost 20k$ and half of its price was already drop as of this date If I where you i would add some at this current price or you should diversify your funds you can buy ETH, XRP, XEM and other alt coins who have solid project not just BTC alone so that incase btc drops you have some other coins which can offset your losses.
