Newbie here, I've been wondering when is the best time to buy coins? Is it a good idea to wait for prices to dip a bit or should I buy them as soon as possible to avoid anymore increases in price?

On my own point of view I think now is the best time to invest in bitcoin since the value of it drop a little bit so when you buy bitcoin now you can be able to save more and all you need to do is to jut wait for its value to rise again and sell your bitcoin in ordr for you to be able to earn big and get rich.

Technically speaking, you cant predict the "right" time to invest in bitcoin, because you don't know how high or how low its going to go, its totally unpredictable. But, if you see the current behavior you will notice that the price is fluctuating within a limit. It will mostly fluctuate within a domain. Just find the right moment in that domain and throw your cash. Hope you all make fortunes with bitcoin. Cheers!

If you are investing for a long term, then of course the current price of the BTC does not matter, as it grows year by year and will grow further.
If you soon want to heal a profit, then do not buy at an increased price, you need to wait for a correction for the subsequent purchase.

Well i the bets time was couple days ago at 13k, but if you believe like me that slowly but surely bitcoin will go up and pass the 20k mark then its still a good time to invest by all means. Just don't wait too long or you will keep the same mindset of being too late to invest, and you'll end up missing out on every opportunity that might show up

you are unlucky man, if you want to invest in bitcoin, you should have bought it few days ago when bitcoin price was still below 14000$, now it has reached 16000$, but surely bitcoin will rise more in the future so you should start to invest in bitcoin as soon as possible now.

Oh one more thing, I'm just a student and I still don't have a job and at the time I can only invest a maximum amount of $100 worth of btc (holiday handouts). Should I spend my $100 all at once to buy coins (since I know $100 of coins isn't that much in the context of investment) or, like knien stated, apply dollar cost averaging and buy portions on a weekly basis?

You do not have to wait until the price drops because it will just end up in vain. You can buy Bitcoin now and then sell it at a much higher price. I am sure you will experience fear if the price of Bitcoin decreases, but believe us we get a bright future. Bitcoin will be one of the greatest strengths in the world economy and Bitcoin's price will be much better than it is today. In reality, Bitcoin can do all those things!.

The best time is whenever you feel like doing it, unless you have an specific goal in mind. And it's pointless to wait for a dip since no one knows when it's going to happen, and by the time you check the price it might be already out of reach.

But I recommend you to buy now since we're having a slow uptrend in the price this week (almost 10% increase in the last 7 days) and it's very possible that it's going to continue, especially if people begin to dump altcoins after the big pump in the price they've had in the last few days.
