What coin to invest?

Bitcoin is the best if you're into trading or investing and holding. What you need in trading is a asset that will be volatile but has the smallest risk of disappearing. An asset that already has value because of it's technology.
High volume, adoption, security, use cases, decentralization, limited supply are the main points to follow if you want crypto profits. Again Bitcoin comes first. There's a lot of people who search for these points in other crypto's, most of them in different ico's but the truth is most ico's and alts fail to provide security and real decentralization which in turn scare away high volume leaving them with no use cases. The ico succes rate was somewhere at 93% in June 2017 and got to 23% in November 2017. I don't know the 2018 numbers but with this bear market i would be amazed if the success rate was over 1%.
For most people who want to invest 100 bucks may seem that bitcoin is out of reach because they want to buy a "whole something" not a fraction of something. I guess that's how we're programmed to think.  

The brightest minds in the world are interested in bitcoin and are looking for solutions to develop even further this currency. Why would you invest or trade something else?
(i did not say gamble, we all know how gamble ends if you bet constantly on something that has a very low success rate like altcoins these days)

I think we can invest in many coins because we can buy cheap coins like xrp, str, xlm, ada, iota, neo, trx, but for me, I will invest in the cheap coin only because I don't have much money to invest in an expensive coin. I see a cheap coin has a great time to reach a profit because this coin can reach the highest price in the past but unfortunately, right now the price is down too deep but I am sure that it will rise again.

I suggest you to learn about trading and investing firstly. Reason is, the choice of coin is also an important element to be done with care and concern but still things aren’t that much easy when you are selecting trading or investing as work. Later on, when you get cleared with this confusion, then bitcoin is one of the best coin in market right now. Learn about it and then decide.

You should not panic sell, when It comes drastically dropped of your altcoin Investment. Instead of selling, why dont you buy more? Because those altcoin where you Invest like ripple was In of top 10 altcoins, so their are big potential to raise It back Its usual price or more.

What do you define as lost?!
If by lost you mean...  After investing 100$ in the above mentioned coins your return was 22$? Or by lost you mean... You invested only 88$  in the above coins and now you left with 22$? Or by lost you mean...  You invest 100$ in the above coins and after you sold them you had 22$?!

You just have to be precise.

One thing you should know is that with trading...
Purchasing a particular coin doesnt guarantee that that coin will spike up high returns within a short period..
You would have to be patient, be observant and smart.

Investing right into coins and selling them out because prices are draining will surely yield a huge lost more than just 88$ should you have invest 1000$.

The mistake often made by the newbie is to buy without knowing anything about what is bought, you put money in a place where you do not know anything, now my advice is to learn first about cryptocurrency and also currently the market does not take the side of investors because we are in fluctuations that tend to go down, this just my opinion. Building your own strategy is what you currently need because other people's strategies are not necessarily true, can even drag you into the market pit, EOS BCH ETH I think is good for you, you can analyze that coins I recommend.

I think you should only invest in bitcoin at this time so you can minimize the risk. You can see that the bitcoin price is fluctuating continuously and the market is in the long-term downtrend, so the bitcoin price may drop at any time and the price of altcoin will drop sharply. Fair enough. Bitcoin is one great crypto and has the ability and capacity to avail you the capital gain opportunity. Besides Bitcoin, we have some more crypto as well. ETH is one potential crypto as well and has great ability to maximize profit given good strategy. litecoin and NEO are also good in terms of market popularity and towards the end of the year; investment made in these crypto would bears good fruits.

However the value increased a little but still it is achievable and affordable for us which will be in our benefit if we do so.
