 I want to invest 500$ in an altcoin,can you help me pick one ??

Firstly you need to make sure that you are investing only that much amount which you can afford to loose.If its not that way then better not invest which you can't afford to loose.
Secondly If losing this "500$" will not hurt your life balances then you can look Binance coin(BNB) since it has utility in the exchange and will eventually increase since binance will be transformed to a DEX platform.

If your intention is making a lot of money and you are willing to take a risk, you should go for an ICO. As BTC and ETH price is low, you can only invest $500 in Bitcoin or ETH and hold your coin for one year to get profit.
