I was wondering, why a lot of projects don't have such an important thing for a successful ICO as a product.
When a company has a product it means they have it to develop. In such case, a company shows why they need ICO and how the company will be growing. What is more, there is more trust because a company has experience in a field they are working.
For example, KickCity company that exists two years. KickCity an event platform that generates revenue and has a Helsinki government grant. KickCity needs ICO to make business bigger and to become a decentralized platform where every user is rewarded for ticket promotion.
On the other hand, no product ICOs can prove their success just in theory. There is no proof base that product will be developed and will be working right.
In such unstable industry as ICO everything has to be under control. The product is one of the things that shows the campaign is not a scam. That is why I believe it is better to invest in ready-made products ICOs.
Most successful investments comes from the good developers which project's are being backuped by a good product/services that could be useful to our daily lives.You are indeed right that we shouldnt invest to these ICOs without researching their background because we might end up being scammed when these shitty projects make an exist move,researching would definitely lessen the chance of ICO investment failures,so we should all check the important aspects. |

If there's demo then at least the team prepare a lot for the ico and serious about their project.

i agree with u.
but the problem is almost 80% ICO now only offering service without physical product.
and from my own research,about 60% from that 80% have a good whitepaper and time plan.
so i think there still some good non product ico out there.

yeah. That is what I mean The product itself is the basis why investors will support the project, so its better t find those ico project who already have working platform and already existing business, chances of success is much bigger than those project where still in the process of developing and need some funding for continue to make progress, keep this attitude then you are much safer than from those who invested just because of hyped,. |

You are making a valid point really. ICOs are meant to have a working and reliable product and a prototype to show for. This will boost investors morale to invest more. But don't forget that some some ICOs that don't have prototype to show in the past have done really well. Though most of them leads to scam.

Seeing projects which do have already a working product is good but not all projects that doesnt have working product isnt really worth to invest yet there are projects which are really worth to put up money with just seeing on their roadmap and development timeframe we would able to point out that this would really be a good one. Its up to you if you do risk it or not but im assuring you that there are already lots pf projects doesnt really need or necessarily to have a working product for them to succeed. |

I fully support you, because I also think that I can not invest in projects that do not have at least an Alpha Version of the product. This immediately cuts off most of the projects that are created to deceive people.

Yeah it is always recommended to have a look at the projects and if there is already a working product. A lot of projects are just trying to collect some funds to create a product but I think that is the wrong way to make a great project!

Yes its true but we should always consider the fact that most of platform based on blockchain that launches ICO are only theories but they become successful despite of luck of actual product or platform at that time. Its all about analysis of their proposal, is there platform not yet done before, is their an actual need of that product/platform and specially is there actual market where it can be in demand for profits. These are the questions you may ask for yourself so that you can have a good investment that is reliable and based on analysis. |

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts, also if the project already achieved some milestones it adds more confidence to the project. The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now. The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster. I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place. Investing in a ready-made Ico project is a logical idea. You want to earn a guarantee. But not all Ico projects are fraudulent. Many Ico platforms have a strong technological sense.

I think there has to be a fine balance, never say never but with the current trends and plethora of project it makes sense to see some evidence that the team has the capability to deliver what has been promised at least a test Alpha of a product.

Its true that theres always been hope for ICOs with products but not all products from ICOs gets sold in the market. Some just dont get positive feedbacks from consumers and just gets dump as time goes by. So its not the having a product thing must be the basis. Always look for the content of the project with or without a product.

The projects that don't have a product and later releases one goes up in value much higher than one that has a product in the beginning. It's a greater risk to invest in a no product ICO and if the team doesn't deliver, you can lose your investment.

This one that i always notice before investing in ico. This is the main thing of the ico to be developed. If no product, it migt be scam. I know its not 100% scam but at least it has indication to be scam. So start now stay away from unproduct ico. |

I would say this is true...95% of the time. You are taking a bigger risk investing in an ICO with no product. However, to say that every ICO that starts out without a product, will not produce one...is incorrect. Its true that many do not but some do. Its similar to investing in an established company (with a product) or investing in a start up. If you are new, you should stick with companies with a product. Those of us that have been in crypto a while and know how to research a company., the team, etc.....you can win big. You never know. Every company is really a crapshoot. You can invest in a great company but a month late someone comes out with a project that makes your investment irrelevant.
