Most of the new projects have no products. The aim of ICO is actually to invest in the idea. if the project has a product, they does not need to collect investment.

It is true, but on the other hand if the team and project are good enough, why don't them continue developing it? I believe that good team is a key factor.

That is why it is extremely important first to learn  EVERYTHING about the team. Do not be lazy and find on the Internet the information about each member, read it thoroughly and then go on with investing.

Clearly if the project already has a working product, or at the very least has completed the alpha and/or beta stages of development, it should provide more reassurance of its current legitimacy and of its future success. Evidence that the platform is actually being utilized as intended by the founders clearly helps.

Almost 90% of ICO have no working products when they launch a crowdsale for the public and they add this on their roadmap. Yes, it is better to invest in an ico with a working platforms or products to gain more trust in their investors.

I agree. However, not a fully developed product is not expected during an ICO. A beta sample or first draft can be a good evidence that the team is actually putting an effort in making their project usable to real life situations. Showing these products will allow them to gain more potential investors and will help them generate funds so they can finish the actual project. But just like what you have said, most ICO's nowadays are all theoritic in terms of its product application.

Your are right.
It is very important to know about the team if you are a participant in a bounty campaign to get the reward.
And it is imperative to know everything about the project team if you are an investor. It can save your money.

come to think of it if there were no icos for innovative products? and it is not always a good investment on icos that have existing products. it is always a risk when it comes to business.

I agree with your opinion, when we invest in ico that has not yet had a product, it takes a relatively long time to grow with a considerable risk

This is correct. never invest in ICO if do not have a product because ICO without any working product can easily be a scam. But not all ICO without product is a scam, maybe initially they dont have any.working product. That is the reason why the company is  using ICO to collect funds to make their product. Learn about their whitepaper and roadmap. in roadmap they explain about when the product release, when ready to use and etc.
But better if they already have working product first

To be honest putting a prototype is not enough this days, seen a few failed projects with prototype. easy to spend 500k to build a prototype / marketing in order to raise $20m and then no updates provided on the project..
I agree, prototype is not enough to lure investors into their project but for some investors prototype is good enough rather than nothing to show to them.

I think that's a good statement. a good and big ICO should have a clear direction. Including also proves its achievement in real. Not just a work plan or project plan. But if it is realized in the form of a product or something like that I think it will be more convincing. Society will also be easier to believe. rather than a project that only pledges this promise, but there is no real evidence.

But you also need to check and advisors and partners listed on the project website. Most often happens when the project team and their accounts in social networks (LinkedIn, for example) are real, and some of advisors not aware that they are listed in the project.

I was wondering, why a lot of projects don't have such an important thing for a successful ICO as a product.

When a company has a product it means they have it to develop. In such case, a company shows why they need ICO and how the company will be growing. What is more, there is more trust because a company has experience in a field they are working.

For example, KickCity company that exists two years. KickCity an event platform that generates revenue and has a Helsinki government grant. KickCity needs ICO to make business bigger and to become a decentralized platform where every user is rewarded for ticket promotion.

On the other hand, no product ICOs can prove their success just in theory. There is no proof base that product will be developed and will be working right.

In such unstable industry as ICO everything has to be under control. The product is one of the things that shows the campaign is not a scam. That is why I believe it is better to invest in ready-made products ICOs.

One of no products ICO is lending ICO which give us daily interest like 1% per day or more.
I think it's really a bullshit and ponzi scheme that the people will gain profit from the money that the next people invested.
Before you buy an ICO, make sure you do your own reasearch on their project and their team members

Thanks, a worth comment. When there is no clear road map and way how the project is going to earn the money, it means you can be in this bad situation losing money.

If the team does not have a product, but there is a good idea, it does not mean that nothing will come of it. There are so many smart people with good ideas. But they do not have the finance to implement these ideas. But the fact that there are very few such projects is a fact.

I don't quite understand what a Non-product ICO is? How to distinguish a project that falls under this definition?  After all, often everything that the project has is White Paper.

Could you explain more?

Yes, when raising millions or even tens of millions of dollars, this money may be used as a fortune to invest in other projects or in Ponzi Finance. This is very likely.

I agree that ICOs with a product are a better choice for investment and I would add also ICOs who are working on their prototype and beta version while also trying to raise funds through the ICO. For me the engagement of the team is an important factor and I would rather invest in a good project that is working on their prototype but keep their community in the loop, than an ICO with a product that is not very responsive to the community.

When you invest in no-product ICO you give your money on product development and you support dev team which tries to change the world(if you choose the right project)
