I am not sure if there is really more scam or fraud, there have been many fraudulent projects last year too. What changed is that is became much harder to walk away with a profit. Once the token are listed on the exchanges, they are worth a fraction of the ICO price. People just dump them in fear to loose more and of course this becomes a downward spiral.
