I got my popcorn ready..this is going to be fun to watch over the next few days.  Cool

Currently about 100 A3's being turned on per hour...looks like a big farm in china is coming online.

Hash will be over 10EH by end of the month.
I think someone just turned the power off in China, -10% hash rate ;-)

Something is going on. It appears to be hitting everyone me included. You can also see Voskcoin is getting hit to.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

/sigh

I gotta get in on the sweepstakes like everyon else before diff goes insane.

btw shouldn't gpu miners be exiting now ?  I stopped dual mining last week, mining pascal now on a few boxes , sia is bascially mining at a loss with claymore fee

the top miners on siamining.com have lost the hashrate, all these 800gh miners lost the hashrate more then 50% in
last hour.
pick up the top miners and take a look at the workers

My A3 was showing the fault light and lost hashing power.  My hashing chart on SIA looked just like VOSK's.  Not a hardware issue.  Everything seems to be back.  Hopefully.

I'll make double post but only because there is too much threads about A3s

https://twitter.com/SiaStats/status/956227452015120384

This happens when people not aware what decentralization is gets powerful machines.

Don't be profit hungry and switch to smaller pools otherwise you ruin entire network.

Yeah I saw my hash rate dropped like crazy as well for a while, so it was not the Chinese internet being turned off.

Hi,

I received my A3 and I have only one board working! did you face that?
Any idea how to fix this?
Try unplugging the boards and running them one by one. Most likely you have something loose. Also check if you have enough power.
I've had bad and loose connectors on PSU's as well, might just want to move them around, give them a proper inspection.

I tried 5 different PSUs didn't work out. I am looking for the flash it again do you know where to find the A3 FW?

Some ugly rumors floating around that the SC Dev team is testing a Bricking hack. Not a good sign. I guess that would lead to a GPU bricking hack and inevitably the death of Siacoin. These are some seriously dumb assholes if that is true.

Harper86 and Cryptonica helped me out getting a backup of the A3 firmware. thanks for that guys!  Cool As others already found out as well: The A3 and D3 are very similar. I even found out that the software inside the controller chips on the hashing boards is exactly the same.
Out of curiosity I tried to run the A3 firmware on the D3 and the A3 firmware actually detects the ASIC chips and tries to  start mining on the D3 hardware. Looking at the logging it's fine, but it doesn't accept the work as Bitmain did actually changed something on the ASIC chips I guess. I do think they used the D3 as a base and stripped out 10 of x11 algorithms.

For now the conclusion is that you can't convert the D3 to an A3.
It probably does need reprogramming of the ASIC chips on the hashing boards itself.

SC Devs strike me as competent and fair, not business minded but not assholes either. I doubt they are going to brick anything.

Admittedly I don't know the first thing about it. I sincerely hope you are right. These are crazy times in Sia Land.

I have the feeling my 2 hashboards are deffective...the only thing that can save me is the firmware maybe...will keep you pistedhttp://

Guys if Sia decides to softfork it won't happen overnight, it takes considerable thought and planning.  This is decentralized storage  user and company files are at stake, there needs to be consensus.  Sia is not gonna just flip a switch and softfork.  If they do it will probably take a couple of months at least.

UPS is asking for $72 import fee. Anybody else got the same?

All and all with my sound proofing box and such this ended up $3.3k. I hope I make it back lol.

Blissz please help us out with the A3 FW image you already have. Me and Tssar have the same problem (2 out of 3 hash boards not showing up). I tried everything, PSU, cables, turn on/off boards one by one, Factory reset, nothing helps. Before I open a ticket with Bitmain, Id like to try reflashing the FW as a last resort. That way I succeeded in revitalizing a D3 with similar hash boards issues a few weeks ago! On Bitmains support page there is no trace of A3 reference, manuals or files Sad

Keep up the good work mate!

Yes, I paid it too. I paid it twice Smiley for x2 A3. I have also paid for L3 and S9 as well, however its typically in 50's but for A3, its 72$.

On to different topic,

I just now plugged in one of my A3 in Siamining, Is there a option to set the payout threshold ?.
