Hello all,

I am looking to store ETH in a wallet, what would you suggest is the best and safest way to do this? I am considering buying a trezor as well for extra protection. I am simply looking to hodl ETH.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Hello,

I use MyEtherWallet in combination with the Trezor.
You can link your MEW account with your cold storage.

Trezor or ledger is best option. If you looking for cheaper option just make an address at myetherwallet site, print the private key so you can open it when you want to use it. Juts dont lose it, cause there no way you can open it again if you dont have the private key or Json file with the password.

I usually use Myetherwallet + Metamask. Also plan to buy Ledger Nano and use it as cold storage for ETH and ERC 20 tokens.

I use Myetherwallet for most of my transactions with Ethereum and tokens that use ETH. I feel very safe with my wallet MEW because I always store my information and private key, UTC very carefully. You should be careful about your property because you are the person who understands its value if unfortunately lost. I also use Trezos purse to keep ETH when not needed.

If you have a hardware wallet, it is the most safe way. If not, paper wallet is also safe.

MyEtherWallet today has a problem since they have a DDOS attack recently. You can safely store your ETH but make sure that the website you are accessing is secured. You can look for the https:// URL for secure transaction to your MEW. For even safer you can download MetaMask in Chrome just find it in the web store. It is a extension where you can import your account safely.

Hello! I prefer My Ether Wallet + metamask. Convenient and safe access, with metamask you can perform the necessary operations.
But best of all - create a new MEW wallet and transfer to it what you will keep for a long time (etherium or tokens). Try to enter the purse only when you need it and do not enter the private key anywhere.

I use the Ledger for large funds and myetherwallet/metamask with smaller wallets for the trading and so on

It is good: I like it

If you can secure it, paper wallet can be one of the most secure option. By the name paper wallet, you don't necessarily have to print and retype it. You can just encrypt with some characters for example putting up 3 alphabets of your last name at an interval of every five characters from the front (That would be undecipherable) and post it to your facebook notes.

Apart from MyEtherWallet i will suggest you the hardware wallet it is the most trusted, secure and safest way to store your cryptocurrencies. Though it is not free and little difficult to use but a great choice to keep your cryptocurrencies for the long term.

Thanks for all the replies!

It seems that a hardware wallet pops up a lot over and over so it seems thats the direction that I need to go. Why is MEW so highly regarded? Are there no other wallets that are considered as highly as MEW?

Use Ledger wallet or at least another cold wallet a for big holdings, and keep a bit on MEW just for ordinary purchases if you are active with transactions. It is also a good idea to buy a new computer and use it only for crypto transactions.

My only suggestion to keep your Ethereums is MyEtherWallet. You don't need an extra precaution because MyEtherWallet is safe enough.
